REWRITE THE STAR [ MCU Avengers / Bucky Barnes ]

Part 9

I'm back again after couple days off because I have to write more story and I had a big event in my town!

This time it's such a short story, I hope you'll enjoy read this part!

That culprit walks toward Penelope while she makes Kate stand behind her. Barnes is still trying to get up, and the culprit gives him an electrocute, making him scream in pain. Looking at Bucky scream like that, she locked her gaze on the culprit.

"I don't think this is a good idea, whoever you are."

"Oh, I think it is." As she spoke, she swung the electrocute sticks, then Penelope's hands and eyes emitted a purplish red light, then she pointed her hand at the woman and made the woman hit the wall, and all of her weapons fell to the ground. Kate, who saw everything amazed by the light that came from Penelope's hands, asked, "What is that? Penelope, who is already in combat mode, uses her power to capture that woman and make her not move an inch. "I already told you this is not a good idea," Penelope said, using her mind to make that culprit sleep, which she did. Bucky gets up from the ground after he successfully escapes from the electrocute weapon.

"Are you okay, Baker?

"I'm good; you know who she is, Barnes?

"No, I don't know her." Then Kate approached the two of them and said, "I know who she is; she is an assassin who almost killed me and Clint. Well, she was actually only targeting Clint, but I was there. Penelope put her hand on that woman's head, and then she used her power. "What are you doing, Baker?" she asks Bucky, "removing parts of her memory." Kate's face was confused and shocked. Wait! You can erase someone's memory, miss?

"Yes, but I always use that wisely, not to play around with it."

"But why are you erasing her memory?

"Because she can't know who I really am, several government people only knew me as a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and a scientist , and I will find out why someone used assassins to try to kill me or to take me to them." Penelope also used her powers to erase and destroy several surveillance cameras in the alley. Kate was still silent, then said, "Are you going to erase my memory too, Miss?

Penelope smiled at Kate and said, "Of course not dear, here Barnes even knew from a long time ago, come on."

"But what about her, miss?

"Just leave her alone there maybe when she awake, she'll have some headache"

Kate and Barnes just looking at the assassin and look back at Penelope, then she says "let's go, I'm really hungry right now."

They left her in the alleyway, and they continued on to Penelope's house.

They arrived at the subway near Penelope's house and asked, "Are you guys hungry too? It looks like there's still time for dinner, and the restaurant I usually go to is still open.

"Yes, please!"

"Bark, bark, woof!" The pizza dog suddenly gets excited when he hears the word hungry.

"Wow, he's got excited, huh? Let's go eat there." They walk to the restaurant, and Penelope makes an order for four of them. After that, two of them and Pizza Dog sit inside the restaurant because it wasn't very crowded. Not that long later, Penelope came back with food for all of them. 

"Here you go, I ordered some pizza slices, chicken with pancakes, and Philly cheese steak for us. She places the food in the middle of their table, and she can hear Kate scream inside her mind, "thank you, Miss Baker." Kate takes the pizza and tears it into two pizzas; she gives one to Pizza Dog, and another eats it. Barnes takes the pancake and gives the Philly cheese steak to Penelope.

"Thanks Barnes" as she sits down beside Barnes while Barnes pours water into hers and Kate's cups. As they enjoy eating their dinner food, Barnes's phone keeps ringing, and as he picks up his phone while answering the call, both Kate and Penelope keep eating, but their gazes are locked into Barnes's face.

"Is there any problem, Barnes?

"No, but Sam needs my help now. Barnes quickly eats his pancakes and drinks his water.

"I have to go; is that okay, Baker?"

"Yeah, I'll bring Kate with me; go on, Barnes."

"Okay"

"Bye, Mr. Winter." After Barnes left the restaurant, there was only Kate and Penelope, 

oh, and of course, Pizza Dog lying on the floor of the restaurant right now.

The two of them arrived at Penelope's apartment and took the elevator, then they arrived in front of Penelope's apartment, she opened the door to her apartment and invited Kate to come in,

"welcome to your temporary home."

Kate and Pizza dog walked into Penelope's apartment, "wow, I thought your house would be full of computers and all S.H.I.E.L.D stuff."

Penelope closed the door then followed Kate while smile at her "no I actually don't like bringing my work to my home even after S.H.I.E.L.D was disbanded by the government except this mission from Nick Fury." Kate nodded, the pizza dog fell asleep next to the sofa.

"It looks like we have to give him a place to sleep and I don't have a bowl for his food and drink. Bishop, this is your room." Penelope open up her guest room,

"Oh, maybe I should probably clean it again"

"No miss, it's fine. I'm really thankful for that."

"Okay, I think you should open up your bag and I have a blanket inside the wardrobe. If you want some snacks I have in my kitchen drawer, feel free to get it, okay? and that is the bathroom" she pointed at the door next to her room. "thank you" Kate walked to the guest room with her bags in her back.

"Good night miss. Baker"

"Goodnight, Bishop."

When Kate's bedroom door was closed, Penelope's cell phone suddenly rang with an incoming message. She looked at who sent her the message. When she saw her cell phone screen, she saw the name Pepper Potts. She opened the message, 

Mrs. Stark

Ms. Baker, for Tony's avengers basecamp, what I can save from the government is the avengers compound, I can't get the Avengers tower anymore. Use the compound properly and I have repaired all the facilities and laboratory rooms there as it is, then I've added your face ID to the entrance to be able to enter the compound.

Penelope was silent for a moment when she saw the message, she immediately replied to Pepper's message 

Penelope

Thank you very much, Mrs. Stark for your help. Tomorrow I will go to the compound to check the conditions there and making the compound operate again.

'Now, I must focus on finding the rest of the kids, their training and all of their facilities. I'm more curious about what happened to Sam.'

She tries to message Sam and Barnes at the same time.

Penelope

Hey guys, we got the avengers compound, tomorrow I'll go there to see and look around the compound, meet me there if you're not busy

She is now hoping that one of them will answer her message. Penelope goes to her room and takes her mother's book. She sits down on her bed while reading her mother's book to learn what she should do with all the kids that she has to train and provide all of them, usually she would call Fury but for a month long, she couldn't call him and she was worried anything happened to him just like when Winter Soldier and Pierce tried to kill him and he made his fake death, she didn't know her father's plan that time. Now, she should sleep because tomorrow she and Kate Bishop will go to Avengers Compound to look around and hoping that Sam and Barnes will be there too.

I want your opinion  on this story, should I continue this story or not? because I have one story (not finish yet) maybe it's like a romance (again) story. I wish that you guys like it and I'll try to finish this story.
