Growth (Andrew's version)

Triggers: smoking, direct references to past sexual assault. Mentions of child abuse. Murder, violence.self hatred. Dehumanizing comments and feelings.

Andrew was bored. He already had his one interesting class of the day, and now he was sat in therapy with Aaron which should've been enlightening or at the very least entertaining.

However, it had been boring. He hadn't had a boring therapy session in a long time. Most of the time him and Aaron at least talked about an issue or something they both liked.

Today was just a simple day. There hadn't been an issue for the past week, both of them spending more times with their respective partners than anyone else.

It was just boring, until it wasn't.

Andrew knew Bee pretty well at this point, going into their third year in their therapist and patient relationship. So he knew she wasn't happy with the boring appointment. So she did the one thing guarantee to make things interesting.

She mentioned their love lives. Andrew didn't overly like sharing about Neil. In his opinion he believed relationships should be kept privately.

Over the past few months Andrew had been very good at keeping his relationship private and nice, only mentioning Neil and their nothing (which was everything) sparsely. He kept his old hatred of Katelyn to himself mostly because he realized the feelings he had weren't really about her.

He didn't hate her now, he just didn't know her very well.

Bee had brought up Neil, and Andrew watched as his twin threw a major tantrum over him.

"He's a fucking dick Andrew" Aaron complained, and Andrew was almost entertained by the way his twin's face was turning red in anger.

Almost.

He ignored him so he didn't say anything, like that Neil was the best nothing he had ever had. The only person to actually stop when he asked. The only romantic partner who respected him as a Person rather than an object to be used and abused.

Aaron should've known all that, should've known that Andrew wouldn't have accepted a dick of a partner. Sure was Neil a loud mouth junkie? Yes of course, Andrew rather enjoyed that actually.

"Now Aaron. Andrew hasn't spoken about Katelyn like that today, do you think it's fair to call Neil that?"

Andrew held back his laughter as Aaron shook with anger now. Andrew didn't talk about Katelyn period, Aaron was protective which he understood and honestly why would he talk about someone he barely knows?

He's seen her of course, seen the way she makes Aaron look happier. He used to hate that, now he doesn't. Why was Andrew supposed to have an opinion on Aaron's relationship? Wasn't that the point of breaking their deal? Andrew was supposed to be letting Aaron handle his own life. So why was this upsetting him so much?

"That's because he ignores her fucking existence" wrong but Aaron usually was. "I can't ignore Neil he's everywhere."

Andrew supposed that was fair. Neil was usually with him, not just because they were roommates and teammates, but also because he was part of their chosen family. He wasn't close with just Andrew.

However, it wasn't like Katelyn was banished from existence, hidden in a dragon protected tower where Aaron and the others couldn't find her.
