Chapter 22:

Dean's POV:

I bursted into their pack house and ran to his dads' office. I knocked on the door and walked in and his father looked up.

"Dean? Are you alright?" He asked standing up.

"Spence got hit in the head with a baseball, it is not good." I said quickly. His dad moved past me and went to the infirmary.

"Spence, is coming in; he got hit in the head at baseball." He said to the doctor. Doc nodded and began preparing the room along with his assistant. I followed him back to the front door as they pulled in.

"Dad he is having a seizure." Connor said jumping out of the back seat with a small amount of blood on his hands. Ryder ran over and grabbed Spencer from the back who was shaking horribly. He had blood running down from his right ear and from his nose.

He placed him on the infirmary table and he continued to shake uncontrollably. Everyone rushed by me as they attempted to stabilize him. Needles were placed into his arms and a breathing tube in his nose. I just watched as he was wheeled into the other room on a hospital bed.

"Jax, go get your mother. She is in the garden." Ryder said. Jaxon left swiftly and I followed behind him going out to the lake. I grabbed a flat rock and threw it across the water angrily.

I just kept grabbing more rocks and throwing them as hard as I could.

"Dean..." Tessa said stopping my arm. I sighed heavily and dropped the rocks onto the dirt.

"Spencer is strong, trust me. He will be fine." She assured rubbing my back.

"Why him? In the first pitch of the game? The first throw." I said angrily.

"Nobody knows why these things happen...but I can assure you the Gods will not take him that easily. Not without a fight." She said hugging me tightly. I took a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh again.

Ella's POV:

"What is going on?" I asked Andrew as everyone crowded beside the infirmary.

"Spencer has been injured." Ryan said bitterly. I moved past him and gasped as I saw bandages covering the side of his head and his swollen face.

"What happened?" I asked.

"He made a pitch and the batter made a line drive right to the side of his head and fractured his skull. Doc had to go in and put the pieces back together. He has not improved yet though." Ryan explained. I looked in as Spencer laid sleeping soundly. Mom sat beside him stroking his hand as doc had fluids pumping into his body.

"Shouldn't his werewolf genes heal him?" I asked.

"Not for head injuries. Our heads can be as easily damaged as a humans." Andrew said.

"So what? Could he have brain damage?" I asked.

"Maybe. Doc doesn't think so, Doc thinks that the right side of his body might be paralyzed for some time. But other then that he should make a smooth recovery." Ryan said disbelieved.
