Paige's POV:

I sat at Ryan's place drinking tea. He was making coffee as I stared out into the backyard. Spencer and Dean were down by the lake as usual skipping rocks. Connor and Alice were playing football and Jax and Riley were in the front yard washing cars, well Jaxon was spraying water at her and making her angry.

Usually Ryan and I were sitting around the fire pit but I didn't feel like going outside today.

Ryan sat across from me stirring his black coffee. The scent didn't bother me as I focused on the smell of my tea. He rested his chin in his hand and stared at me. I looked into his dark eyes and smiled.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly. Before I could even speak I had soft tears falling down my cheeks.

"I'm tired." I said playing with the tea bag. I looked up taking a heavy deep breath that was ruined by sobs.

"I get made fun of at school and I get beat at home by my own mother. She could care less if I was found dead." I said wiping away the tears that fell down my cheeks. He said nothing and stood up he tossed the full coffee in the sink and took my hand. He pulled me in for a tight hug as I sobbed into his shoulder. He rubbed my back soothingly and he kissed my head. He pulled back and wiped the smeared tears.

"You look ugly when you cry." He teased making me smile.

"Stop." I said laughing.

"I'm just kidding. I love you so much Paige and I would hurt anyone who made fun of you. However these people are female so I can't do anything other than tell them where to go." He said and I smiled as he kissed my forehead.

"I bought something for you but it is upstairs." He said and I nodded taking his hand. We went into his room and he walked into his closet and came out with a bouquet of flowers that were painted purple and a small gift bag.

"It's not my birthday and it is not our anniversary." I said grinning. I opened the small back to pull out a small box containing a silver necklace with a jet black pendant hanging from it. The pendant was a small heart and I smiled as he clasped it around my neck. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you, I love it." I whispered kissing the side of his face.

"I would give you a gift everyday if I could because I love you so much and I love seeing you smile." He said.

"You're such a romantic." I teased and he laughed.

"Only when we are alone. In public I have to look like an alpha." He grinned puffing out his chest.

"I won't lie to you, babe...You just look like my cuddly man in public." I teased kissing his jaw.

"No I don't. I look manly." He smirked.
