"You what?!"

I groaned at Amorette's unnecessary reply to my statement. She placed her hands on my shoulder with wide eyes and shook me.

"For the love of God." I hissed, throwing her hands off of me.

"I told you someone wanted to see you." She persisted. "How could you just leave him like that, how did you even know it was him?"

I shrugged. "You came over and told me someone wanted to see me, refusing to mention who it was right after Aidan called you outside and asked to speak with you. It wasn't hard to know."

She groaned. "But how could you ignore him like that? You didn't even take my words seriously."

I shrugged. "Can we not talk about this?"

She huffed beside me, folding her arms. "Of course we have to. Aidan looked like he really wanted to speak to you about something. I mean, when he walked up to call me, he still looked in your direction but you weren't even sparing him a glance."

She paused, moving closer to me and she said softly, "I thought you guys were friends?"

Something about the way she asked the question got me, it touched me, and her words got to me much deeper than I'd expected.

I lowered my gaze, swallowing the lump in my throat.

You have to stay away from him, Tammy.

Do you really want to risk getting hurt, again? So soon?

I balled my fists and shut my eyes tight.

He doesn't like you anyways, you'll get rejected.

I opened my eyes and met Amorette's worried gaze.

As if suddenly coming to a realization, she gasped, her eyes widening, clasping her hand over her mouth.

"It's the kiss, isn't it?"

I looked away from her with a frown and turned my head to the other side, refusing to answer. I stood up and she did the same.

"Are you shy?" She asked and through the corner of my eyes, I saw her smile at me. I rolled my eyes and scoffed.

"Of course not. Do I look like someone that would normally get shy?"

She thought for a while, then, she shook her head. "Then why are you avoiding him, did you guys have a fight?"

I sighed, rubbing my temples with my fingers. "I'll get a headache if you keep asking these questions."

"Fine." She said. "I'm going to talk to Aidan and apologize on your behalf, but you have to talk to him and make up. I've seen you two, you guys are really cute together, don't ruin it."

Immediately after saying that, she left me alone in the front row and walked to the back of the class to speak with Ayomide.

I felt a familiar ache in my chest, but I wore an impassive look and walked away from my seat, towards the door.

"Whatever."

I walked towards the door and I pulled the knob open to step out. Suddenly, Aidan appeared before me with Samuel behind him.

My eyes widened at the sight of him and I gripped the door knob. He only looked at me for a couple of seconds, his expression giving off a bored 'I don't need this' exterior but I looked into his eyes and I saw unmasked pain, hurt.

He stared back at me, but despite what his eyes spoke, he looked at me like he didn't know me, like all he could say was a stranger.

He looked away from me and without a single word, he side stepped me and walked into the class, Samuel going in after and shrugging, leaving me by the door, staring ahead of me.
