As I slipped away from the vibrant energy of the haldi function, a deep exhaustion settled over me. The door to my room clicked shut behind me, and for a moment, I just stood there, letting the quiet wash over me. The buzz of laughter and music still echoed faintly in my mind, but here, in this serene space, I could finally breathe.I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror—the vibrant yellow of the haldi still clung to my skin, and the earthy scent of turmeric was thick in the air. My body ached from hours of standing and dancing, and my feet throbbed with each step. I needed to wash away the day, to feel clean and refreshed before I could even think about resting and then after some rest have to attend the mehndi and sangeet.
Dragging myself to the bathroom, I peeled off the layers of my haldi-stained clothes. Each piece fell to the floor with a soft thud, taking a bit of the day's weight with it. The bathroom was cool and inviting, and as I turned on the shower, the sound of water rushing out was like music to my tired ears.
After what felt like an eternity, I finally shut off the water and wrapped myself in a soft towel. The bathroom was filled with steam, and I could feel the warmth clinging to me as I dried off, my mind starting to relax. I slipped into a fresh set of clothes, the fabric cool and comforting against my skin.
When I finally emerged, the room felt even more inviting. I sank onto the edge of the bed, the softness cradling my tired body. As I lay back, the cool sheets felt like a balm against my freshly cleansed skin. My head hit the pillow, and I let out a deep, contented sigh.
Finally, I let myself drift, the last traces of the day's excitement slipping away as sleep began to take hold, but sadly the wanted long hours of sleep only lasted for less than a couple of an hour as Aditi's cousin who are a pain in ass basically banged on the door making me come out of my deep sleep but yes I was also thankful because I had to take my sweet time to get ready for the sangeet function.
As I slipped into my black lehenga as black is the theme for the sangeet party, The velvet skirt, heavy with gold zari embroidery, flared just right, making me want to twirl endlessly. The choli hugged my frame, its off-shoulder design adding a modern touch, while the delicate sequins caught the light perfectly. The sheer net dupatta, with its intricate border, draped effortlessly, completing the look.
Going inside the common hall room where professional makeup artists were assigned to assist the bride and the close guests.
I found Aditi there dressed in her black lehnga with a lot of sparkling work making her stand out in a most beautiful way, her eyes were closed as the makeup artist were doing her makeup while one of them were curling her hair in soft curls."Well someone is gonna have an heartattack today" I said sitting on one of the chair to let the hair artists work on my hair, I'm gathering up my energy for the dance function tonight
