He told me to sleep, but how could I when a devil lay beside me, his steady breathing filling the silence, making my stomach twist in discomfort, I was weak, angry, scared, hungry, thirsty,
I was a mess of emotions and sensations.

Couldn't he see it?

Last night left me shaken and terrified because of his words, well I didn't expect anything less than this, i know he is a cold blooded gangster behind the facade of being the crowned prince, but i couldn't help but shiver when he admitted it himself.

I turned my head, glancing at him, lying there so peacefully. His face, so calm, irritated me even more. I wished,
I hope you stay asleep forever,

and slowly, making sure not to wake him up, I slipped out of bed. My movements were careful, my steps light as I grabbed a cotton shawl from the nearby table, wrapping it tightly around my bare shoulders and neck. One last glance at him, and I quietly tiptoed out of the room, my heart racing, to make sure I don't wake the devil.

It was a long walk to the stairs, I wonder why he has to live to another wing of the palace, my feet became tired just by walking and finally I reached downstairs, I felt like my body will give up any moment.

the house was quiet. The clock had barely struck six, and everything felt still. I wandered into the kitchen, my throat burning with thirst. I filled a glass with water and gulped it down quickly, scared that someone might snatch it away.

The relief I felt when the cold water slid down my throat was almost painful, and my body craved more. I opened the fridge, searching for something to eat. That's when a soft voice startled me from behind.

"Bhabhi?"

I jumped, turning quickly to see a young girl, her sleepy figure standing there, a steel water bottle in her hand.

"Myra?" I said confirming if that's her name, frowning in surprise.

She nodded, her expression drowsy yet filled with concern.

"Are you okay? You haven't come out of the room in so long Is everything fine between you and bhai?"

Her words made my heart sink, and my mood soured even further. Him. Again. I didn't want to talk about him.
