"Ekaksh, thank God, you're here," his dadi exclaimed, as he entered the room

I turned to him, my eyes brimming with tears. I felt like a stranger in this house, surrounded by people who refused to believe me. My heart pounded in my chest as I reached out for him, my steps shaky. He walked toward us, his face a mask of calm indifference, his cold eyes meeting mine.

"E-Ekaksh, you promised we'd leave this morning... how could you lie to me?" I whispered, my voice breaking as I struggled to catch my breath.

"I'm not making this up, please, I'm begging you."

"There's nothing here, Shanaya beta-" His mother began, but I cut her off, my desperation spilling over.

"Ahh! Why won't any of you believe me?" I whined, my voice rising to a near scream. I squatted down, clutching my hair in both hands, the fear and frustration clawing at my sanity. I felt like I was losing my mind.

Before I could fall apart completely, Ekaksh reached for my shoulder, pulling me to my feet.

"calm do-" he began, but I shoved his hand away.

"You shut up! You promised to leave, and yet here you are, still standing, while everyone treats me like I'm insane!" I shouted, my voice cracking with a mix of anger and fear.

"Ekaksh, tum hi samjhao apni biwi ko," his dadi said with a sigh.

(Ekaksh, you make your wife understand)

"Ekaksh, please," I murmured, my voice barely a whisper, my eyes pleading with him to understand, to take me away from this nightmare.

His father stepped forward, trying to reason with me.

"Shanaya, tell us clearly what happened. What did you see?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "L-last night, I was going to the room, a shadow passed through me, and I heard someone whisper my name. When I turned around... she was there." My voice was trembling, my words coming out in a rush.
