*Dani's POV*
The second I ordered drinks, Collin's eyes were on me. They were enrages to say the least and I know that Abigail has to be here and has filled him in on what has happened."
"Dani? Dani are you listening to me?" Kait says to me. My eyes are too busy scanning the the floor for Abigail. As much as I don't want to look for her, I do.
"Yeah, sorry."
"I asked how you met that girl?" she points to the other side of the bar.
Turning my eyes, Abigail is standing with another woman at the end of the bar. I watch as they embrace and the woman kisses her cheek before leaving the bar. It is only a minute before another person takes the empty space.
He pulls her out onto the dance floor and I can tell she is drunk by the way she stumbles.
"Hello, Earth to Dani?" Kait waves her hand in front of my face.
I blink a few times to break my daze. Even though I've turned back to Kait, I can't get the picture of someone else's hands on Abigail.
"I'll be right back," I cut off whatever Kait was saying to get off my stool. An overwhelming sense of jealousy fills me. I don't want anyone else to have her. I want those moments like we had last night all to myself. I really do want to be the last name she writes in that damn book. I know her better than anyone else, at least that's what she keeps saying in her sleep.
It was amusing watching her sleep, the way her lips parted slightly and the soft breaths escape her nose. She mumbles some things ever so often, a few thing I know she for sure didn't want me to hear.
"Abigail?" I say when I get within earshot of her. She is giggling at something the man said. She doesn't even seem to have registered what I said. When I go to speak again, a moan escaped her lips as the man kisses the soft spot behind her ear.
"Abigail," I say again, louder. She stops laughing when her eyes meet mine. Her eyes sober up real fast when she sees me.
"Who's this, your mom?" the boy slurs, causing Abigail to give a stifled giggle.
"Abigail, lets go," I demand.
"No," she whines back like a drunk teenager. That's probably because she is a drunk teenager. "Im having so much fun with-" she thinks "-uh-"
"Darrin," he finishes for her.
"Abigail, I will not tell you again, let's go."
"Why don't you leave with your girlfriend instead?" Abby bites back, nodding to where Kait is approaching us.
Abigail shifts backwards, causing the boy's eyes to go wide. She starts to move in time with the overly loud music against him, causing me to clench my fists. When Kait wraps her arm around me, Abigail's eyes well with something. Before I can decipher what it is, she looks away.
"What's the problem?" Kait whispers in my ear.
"Nothing," I shrug her arm off of me. "Abby has just had too much to drink."
"She's not your problem," she says harshly. "Why don't we just go back to your place?" she asks suggestively. She tires to wrap her arm around me again, but I throw it off angry. "What's your problem.?"
"Right now? You are my problem."
"Baby what's wrong?"
"I'm not your baby!" I shout earning some looks from the nearby drunks.
Kait looks at me upset, "Okay well I guess call me if you wanna talk about whats wrong. I don't want you to say something you don't mean."
I am too frustrated to answer her. I don't even watch her leave, all I can see is that man's hands on Abigail's waist, as she grinds into him. Without another thought I grab her arm and yank her away from Darrin. Luckily he is too drunk to notice and another skank fills the empty space.
*Abby's POV*
Dani's grasp on my arm hurts as she drags me along.
"Dani!"
She doesn't hear me. My vision is blurry and I keep losing my balance from the alcohol.
"Dani!" I shout again.
She drags me straight to the edge of the club, where there are no people congregated.
"Dani, please, you're hurting me!" I half cry.
Immediately, she drops my arm as if it burns her and spins to face me. The anger in her eyes flips to worry. "Did I hurt you Abigail?" her voice strained.
"A little," I say, rubbing my wrist.
Dani takes my arm again, this time with a gentle touch and looks at it. "I'm sorry."
I take my arm from her hand, "Whatever."
"No, Im sorry Abigail."
Just the way she says my name makes me shiver. I know she can tell because her gaze becomes heated. I can't even react before she has her hands on my waist, pulling me flush to her. Her lips find mine and are full of desperation.
The way she feels against me is like nobody I've been with before, not even Jayme made me feel this way.
But she lied to me, "Dani," I push her away, "no."
"Please Abby," she begs.
"No, it's not right."
"Why?" she breaths.
"You lied to me."
"You never let me explain."
"It seems pretty self explanatory to me."
"What like you grinding up against some stranger right in front of me?" she snaps.
"Well how about your girlfriend showing up at your door begging for forgiveness 'baby'," I bite back.
*Dani's POV*
I know she called me 'baby' in order to mock Kait, but I can't help but also think about how sexy is sound rolling off her tongue.
"Please just let me explain."
She folds her arms across her chest. "How do I know that you wont lie to me again?"
"You just have to trust me."
"And how am I supposed to do that?" her voice raises.
My hand starts to tap at my side and my heart starts to neat. I know what I want to tell her, but I don't know if I can actually say it to her face. I take a deep breath and whisper, "Because you love me.
With that, Abigail freezes, eyes full of fear.
*Abby's POV*
As the words escape her lips, my heart stops.
"No," I whisper in denial.
"Yes, Abigail," she takes my hands, "you do."
"No," I whisper again.
"You said it in your sleep."
"No," is all that keeps coming out. I feel so embarrassed. She must think I am completely insane. Good god we just met. I feel violated by her listening to my sleep talk.
"Please, Abby, trust me."
Releasing my breath, "Okay."
Her fae floods with relief and she smiles, "Lets go to a place a little more quiet, and where we can also sober up."
