PROTECT MATES.
Something felt wrong inside them, their heart pumping furiously, the uncontrollable rage making their body shake, the could hear the bones shifting before they changed, snapping and growing, poking out from skin that stretched and decayed, splitting apart and becoming a sagging, rotten material that dropped onto the ground with a disgusting squelching. Amber watched in silent awe, holding Tara close as the human visage of Wednesday fell apart and all that was left was a beast of gluttony.
With a roar, the rotting carcass of Wednesday Addams moved, ramming antlers into the green, pulpy matter of their monster, who howled in agony from the attack. Jaws wide and powerful bit at it's arms, large claws made of bone sliced open it's opponent, the Addams heir already becoming ruthless in their attacks. No one could harm their girlfriends, ever.
The greenish creature was just shorter than Wednesday, pushing them away and tearing their antlers from their very skull. They didn't feel rage often, but it was overwhelming now, making them forget about the staggering pain of having their very cartilage removed. Teeth that didn't fit their mouth snapped at the bug eyes of the creature, only for their clawed fingers to grab their jaw, reaching their tongue and scraping across the bloody organ, black sludge bled from them, dripping onto the ground from every open wound and broken piece they had. The large feathered wings they'd crafted across their back shook like a cloak, the hood of wolves fur standing on end. They let out a screech, their opponent copying them as it swung a slow punch into their face. The huge hand caved in the side of their skull immediately, the bones cracking and falling underneath them, covered in black and red, shaking with barely restrained power.
They would curse the thing if they could, but having such a form made speaking impossible. They panted despite not needing to, watching it swing another fist towards them before they caught it in their mouth. Teeth dug into flesh with ease, tearing the limb from its host and throwing it to the ground beside them. They glanced back for only a moment, but Amber and Tara were gone, they'd already ran to the underbrush.
Wednesday could smell the fear from their lovers and from the screaming monster in front of them. They snarled, a low unearthly sound that shook the very forest with it's power. Black tendrils wrapped themselves around the struggling abomination from within their cloak, forcing themselves into the creature's wounds and open orifices, searching for any clue of what it was, any idea of who it was.
Then, they smelled it.
Coffee grounds.
They moved before they could think, their spindling, raven like talons were posed to attack, an enraged scream bubbling from their throat, the black sludge falling from their eye sockets and mouth to cover the monster, to drown it, to smother it as it forced its way into the struggling, pathetic thing. They needed to kill it. It had to die!
"Wednesday." They stopped after hear the storm tone of Larissa Weems, the rage and adrenaline still coursing through their veins. They stared down at the whimpering thing, watching as it choked and swiped at them.
"Let it go, we still can use it. We need to learn who's behind all of this." Weems was a shapeshifter, a principal, but by Marriage and love, she was an Addams.
"Let it return, take care of your loves for the night, and get cleaned up. You're bleeding everywhere." They growled impatiently, annoyed but stepped away from the pathetic thing, allowing it to go and watching as it stood on shaking legs. It hissed and snarled at them, running far away from them, fully aware that it was bested.
Slowly, the darkness returned to the pits of their cloak, the feathers and fur falling away to the forest floor, skin reforming and bones returning to their human placement, the extra teeth and claws fell apart, the grotesque transformation leaving a bloody Wednesday Addams, who looked deshevled and tired.
Wednesday sighed, walking to Weems, who laid a hand on their shoulder. They looked at Amber and Tara, who were silent and staring at their partner in both awe and disgust. Amber was grinning, Still holding the more sensitive of their group.
"Come on children, let's get you cleaned up."
