Wednesday didn't mind the nurses at Nevermore, but their persistent pestering was becoming annoying.
They were sitting on the bed, their legs crossed and their elbows resting on their knees and their hands in their lap, fingers intertwined. Their eyes were closed, their body relaxed. They inhaled slowly, their mouth open and releasing a barely noticeable vapor. Their form was fading into and out of the vapor it emitted, their skin flaking and peeling away to reveal the rotting monster underneath. They were healing, meditating their soul and mediating their forms. The rib barely hurt now, no longer piercing the lung after a full night's rest. They were feeling a small amount of peace, until the infirmary door was thrown open.
Students rushed in carrying another, the scent of garlic permeating the air.
"Epi-pen, stat!" One of the nurses went to take their newest patient to a bed, and Wednesday opened their eyes, climbing off the flimsy cot bed with ease.
They followed, peering in from the shadows and sniffing the air. They met the eyes of Yoko Tanaka, who was choking, her skin red and agitated, fangs elongated and mouth open in a silent scream as she coughed and tried to heave.
Wednesday sighed, leaning against the wall of the doorway, waiting for one of the nurses to notice them. They inhaled again, releasing it in too much of a deep breath. They weren't used to needing to breath as much as a normal human, usually their shallow breaths were enough, but to be cleared by nurses that hovered over every bit of you?
They might be going mad.
"Addams, you aren't to be up. Get back to rest immediately." Wednesday scowled, fingers curling around the door and slightly splintering the wood.
"I'm perfectly capable at walking and breathing, thank you." They replied with a roll of their eyes. The nurse sighed, matching their gaze with an annoyed stare. They were in a stand off, neither willing to submit with their stubbornness.
A buzz began in the base of their skull, and with annoyance in their features they looked away and returned to their bed, pulling the curtains around them. They didn't say a thing until they sat on the bed, leaning their back carefully against the wall.
"Master," they nodded their head in greeting at the creature in the shadows, watching long fingers reach out and gently touching the top of their head. The cold hand resting on their head, a tingle running up their spine before the creature patted their head affectionately.
"Your hubris has led to an injury by your wolf. Excellent job, Young one." Wednesday could hear the laughter, feel it echoing silently in their brain. They huffed, scowling and crossing their arms across their chest, even if the movement did strain them.
"Rest, allow your mates to handle the boat race." The young Addams jerked, eyes flashing for a barely noticeable second.
"But I promised Enid!"
The Slenderman tilted it's head, watching the short teenager complain, whispering demands of their assistance.
"Silence. I have a plan for your wolf, and I need her on our side." Wednesday shut up immediately, their mouth closing with a soft click. They said nothing, looking curiously at their master.
"You simply have to trust me, pursue your heart Wednesday." They nodded slowly, almost nervously. The Slenderman hummed, the noise slowly dissolving into static as the old creature disappeared.
Wednesday closes their eyes, settling back into their meditation position to appreciate the peace of being left alone.
Just as they got comfortable, the curtain opened with an annoying screech, causing Wednesday to open one eye.
"Wendy, how are you feeling?" Amber poked her head into the small space, smiling at them. She slipped into the spot and leaned against the side of the bed, passing a blood bag to Wednesday as Tara stepped into their shared space as well, holding a cardboard shoe box in her hands.
"I'm very tempted to maim the nurses attending to me." They opened their other eye, a long breath released before taking another one.
"They believe I am unhealthy, but I am capable of functioning."
Amber snorted, taking one of the blood bags and stabbing a straw into it. She held it up for Wednesday, letting them take a drink.
"I think you're just hangry Hon." She said with a wink.
"Enid is without a co-pilot and another team member, you'll have to fill the positions for Tanaka and I."
"What?"
Tara nearly dropped the box, staring at Wednesday with a panicked look. They simply stared back, then glanced down at the box.
"It's from your parents, they sent a care package." She smiled shakily, putting the box on the bed beside them.
"Thank you for bringing it, it's greatly appreciated." She blushed, her nerves clearing up after the praise. It was very easy for Wednesday to make her feel better, but that was probably because they were so pretty.
Amber coughed, clearing her throat to get the attention of her two partners.
"You want us, to help in a boat race that you were using to win Enid's heart?"
"Explain to her that I asked you to do it for me, since I promised to help her and I'm currently indisposed." Wednesday mixed the bag, already done with half of the pint. They continued drinking through the straw, clearly not going slowly with their appetite.
"I don't even know how to drive a boat." Tara muttered, watching Wednesday opening the second blood bag. Amber huffed and threw the first one away.
"I do, used it in a kill once. But they're row boats, so we should be good. Just gotta get that flag and get back to the shore, should be easy." The tallest ghostface shrugged, smirking at the two shorter ones.
"Yeah, it's not like there are sirens in the race or anything." Tara looked pointedly at Amber, who sent a kiss in her direction.
"Simply be careful and gain Enid's trust, she's been avoiding us for a few days." Wednesday rolled their eyes again, getting a light punch in the shoulder for their snark.
"Yeah, but aren't you glad she wasn't in the dorm lately? You know how much she hates blood." Amber smirked, Tara giggling softly at the teasing.
"Careful Freeman, you know how much I bite." They bared their blood covered teeth, their sensitive hearing able to pick up the soft whimper that rose in Tara's throat.
"And you know how much our Final Girl likes blood." Tara blushed, looking at the two other ghostface killers.
"I can treat you to ask many kisses as you want, is that fair My Darling?"
Amber grinned, nodding in agreement.
"We can have some fun when you get out of the Infirmary, we've got plenty of time to get out job done, and enjoy ourselves."
"Anything for you guys..."
From behind the closed curtain, Yoko groaned loudly, throwing a pillow in frustration before it fell halfway across the room.
"Will you guys shut up and stop being so gay? Jesus!"
