The aura around Evelynn was lighter than before. Maybe because she didn't mean any harm for now. Or Akali just got used to it completely. Either way, she didn't expect it to go so well. They didn't talk much because they didn't want to wake the children up. And that was fine.
Akali took her time looking at Eve instead. She didn't want to look creepy staring at her for 5 full minutes but she did anyways. Everyone talked about how beautiful she was and that it was just all a trap and that it was just hiding the real demon under it. She was indeed really pretty and she understood how so many people could fall for it this fast. But Akali couldn't let that happen, not her. She wasn't planning on getting killed by Evelynn's true form. What could it possibly even look like? She wanted to know but she wasn't going to try anger her to discover it.
That demon's eyes were bright yellow with very thin pupils. Kind of like a cat. They were deep, you could stare at them for hours. She wanted to, maybe, compliment her? But she probably had heard all of them before so it was no use. And why would she do that? She wasn't going to flirt with a demon. Evelynn finally looked back at her which made Akali look away in embarrassment.
"Is there something you'd like to say?" the demon said with tease
"No" she mumbled
"Are you sure~?"
"I like your eyes" she didn't mean to say it like that at all. Now it sounded way too affectionate. She gave Eve a quick look and she could swear she saw a faint blush her face.
"...why thank you" her voice wasn't as evil as usual, it was more...genuine.
There was an awkward silence for what seemed like hours. Akali wanted to talk like last time but it would make things worse to start opening up again to her. Plus she had sworn to never do that again. And it was NOT happening. But she had to break the silence and if it was the only option then maybe she should. But turned out there was no need for that because the kids woke up.
Evelynn wasn't in danger but Akali was. If the children saw her being all nice with a demon they were going to tell on her to who knows who. The demon turned invisible but didn't move from where she was. Akali got up and kneeled down to the kids. They were barely awake so she wasn't worried that they had seen her.
She needed to get them back home really soon and since they were tired it'd be better to get them back right now. She wanted to at least say goodbye to Eve. But now that they were awake it was going to be tricky. She looked over at her, her invisibility was really light so she could quite litteraly see her with her vision. Akali's eyes were saying everything that had to be said: she had to leave. Evelynn nodded before getting up and patting her head and starting to walk away getting more and more transparent until nothing was left.
Akali stayed stunned for a few seconds and started smiling like and idiot. A kid pulled her arm which made her come back to reality.
"I wanna go home" he whined
"Yes okay we're going home"
Akali answered before getting up and picking up the last two that we're sleeping and headed for the village for the last time with those kids. When they got home, the children didn't want to leave her. They'd cling to her almost crying. She wasn't taking care of them one more second but god what were they doing? The parents finally came to pick them up. They were crying so much for absolutely no reason, they should even be happy that they're not in litteral constant danger anymore. But it pained Akali. They pissed her off but they were funny and they liked her despite how annoying they were to her.
