Running sucks

She has to see Evelynn. She had one question that wouldn't leave her mind and it killed her not to have an answer. It was in the middle of the night that Akali got up and decided that she had to know and nothing was going to stop her.

She did her best not to alert anyone. She was trained to be as quiet as possible and she was glad she listened to those parts of the training. But other students also had listened and maybe even better than her. And when she was almost getting to the forest she heard someone yell her name and that's when she started running.

She was probably going to get caught but she was fast and in the darkness of the night she was almost invisible. She was chased and she knew it. She couldn't get rid of them even after going into the most random directions. She was getting tired when she suddenly got picked up like if something had snatched her from above her. And indeed something had.

Eve had snatched her from a tree with her slashers and covered her mouth with them so she'd stay quiet. She looked down and watched the three guards run below them. They hadn't seen her. She waited a few seconds before putting Akali back down. The demon didn't come down from there though. Akali wanted to ask her question but she didn't want to be so straight forward even though their past interactions had been pretty... direct.

There was an uncomfortable silence where Eve just stared down at her almost waiting for her to say something. She was also asking herself the same question. But they were both too scared to ask. Akali took a deep breath and finally managed to say

"...do you like me?"

Eve knew exactly what she meant by "like" and she also knew the answer to that question. Yes, yes she did. But she hadn't thought about how hard it would be to formulate that.

"Maybe...just a little" she wasn't even facing Akali anymore, she had turned her head away.

She was lying, she loved her more than anything but she couldn't say that. But apparently, that answer was enough for Akali. There was no words to describe what she felt. Eve had said those words in an almost inaudible voice but they had enough feelings in them to make them sound like a scream to her ear. She wanted to answer, to tell her, that yes, her too. When she started hearing people yelling her name again, she didn't even want to move, she wanted to answer her so bad but she didn't have time to do that. She didn't want to run, not anymore, but she had to, again.

She gave Eve a sad look before looking back at the guards that were running full speed towards her. She looked at Eve one last time before running away, followed closely by those three soldiers.

It was annoying to run all the time, and it was worse when it always happened at the worse times possible. She had to tell Evelynn she loved her. She had to see her again. But there was no way that was happening because of how much Shen got mad about her running away in the middle of the night. He almost had a whole army guarding around her house. Now that she thought about it, it should definitely be illegal. But Ionia didn't have laws so, that'd be tricky.
