Bonus Chapter: After Story

Three years after those events and here I am standing near a pound at the city's park. I have to wait for the new Captain to come by to pick me up since my car is in the shop sadly. I wait there for a good ten minutes till a black mustang pulls up to the curb and honks it's horn. I walk over to it and slide into the passenger side and look at the Captain.

"You know, you should really cut your beard off Captain Carter, you looked better with stubs."

"I'll do that when you cut your hair short like when we first met. I mean look at it, it's gotten long enough to where it almost touches your shoulders."

"Hey! I actually like my hair like this, I'm thinking of making the tips black."

"Really? Boy I can't wait to see that."

"I think I liked you more when you were more serious."

"Hey, you rubbed off on me like I rubbed off on you. Now let's go, we need to get to the hospital."

"I can't believe your having a kid. It's only been three years and BOOM."

"Don't make me give you an assignment after this...Detective."

"Okay fine, I'll shut up."

We drive to the hospital Jenn is in and once there I wait in the waiting room while Carter goes to support his wife during the birth. I end up falling asleep sometime later and I'm awaken about three hours later by him. He tells me to come with him and I do, and once I'm inside the room I see Jenn in the hospital bed holding a baby. I stand at the door as Carter joined her but then motioned for me to come over.

"It's beautiful...what's the gender?"

"It's a girl...a baby girl..."

"Heh, I bet you weren't expecting to have a girl huh?"

Jenn speaks up quietly looking up at me with a smile on her face. "Well we kinda wanted a baby girl you see."

"Really? Why?"

"Well I don't think you would want a little Carter running around now would you?"

"Oh god no..."

"I thought so, heh."

"So what did you name her then?"

Carter walks around the bed and beside me, putting his hand on my shoulder while looking at the baby. "We decided...to name her Cassy...Cassy Jennifer Carter."

"Cassy...so...you named her after me?"

"Yes...we want her to be like you if anything...your a hard worker...smart, you know how enjoy little things...and even when things are though...you never give up. We want her to be just like you."

"I...I...okay then...I'm guessing this means when she's old enough you'll be making her my partner right?"

"Of course. But also that will be her decision when she gets older. If she wants to be in law enforcement...then I'll be sure your both partners."

"Hm...Cassy and Cassy...that's gonna be confusing...wait...I got it! Cassy and Cass!"

Carter and Jenn both looked at me and laughed a bit but both thought it was acceptable. Me having a partner someday...sounds like fun...and if it'll be their kid, I'm sure it will be very interesting. I'll be sure to take good care of her...and I'll be sure to be the best Detective she'll ever be partnered with!
