26. The villain reveal

I placed the azaleas in a vase cause I didnt want them to wither. Im still not sure who left them. Could it be Yeon ? But he isn't one to leave them like that. He'd rather prefer to give them in person. Thinking about him, where is he ? He didnt even nag me to come for breakfast. I didn't see him last night so I thought he must be asleep.

I checked his room only to find it empty.
''Yeon isn't in there.'' A voice spoke from behind me. Hong joo-ssi.
''Do you know where he is ?''
''He's in my room. Dont get startled when you see him.'' And she walked off. What is he doing in her room ? I increased the speed of my steps and almost slammed open the door to see him buttoning his shirt.
''What happened here ?'' I questioned as he blinked for a moment then asked,
''What do you mean ?''
''I met Hong joo-ssi before coming here.''
''I bet a mint choco she must have told you something weird.'' I immediately calmed down. I was getting worked up for nothing. It's Lee Yeon we're talking about.
''Or it's just me running wild stories in my mind.''

''Well, something wild did happen last night.'' He said pointing me to have a seat.
''Im guessing it answers my question of how you ended up in this room.''

''What ?! Are you alright ?''
''I knew you'd react like this. Don't worry, im fine. Moo yeong healed me with his blood.'' First he attacked him and then healed him too ?
''Orabeoni, do you think he's.....''
''I do have a suspicion that he's red-white mask.''
''Everything points at him. You said someone trapped us in this time, someone who knew you and had a grudge against you. And just out of nowhere, your long lost friend who's supposed to be unalive joins us on a trip in 1938 ? That would only serve as the plot for a good fantasy drama.'' I felt a pat on my head, relaxing the crossed expression on my face.
''You surely work at TVC station.'' How can he smile in the middle of a serious conversation ? These Lee brothers, seriously.

''So, what do we do now ?''
''Now we go out and see what my old friend is upto.'' We spot Shin ju-ssi, Rang and.... Im guessing that's the villain sitting with them.
''How can he act so normally around someone he almost killed ?'' I said clenching my fist. Yeon sighed at the sight then looked at me,
''I hate to sound like this but it would benefit us to handle things calmly then taking a rash action. I told you what happened because I don't want to keep you in the dark that could end up putting you in more danger.'' I nodded.
''I'll try not to act impulsively.''
''I trust your decisions not your expressions.'' My face turned to a 'what ?'
''If you continue to give this deadly stare he's not gonna buy it.'' I shifted my expression right after.

''Ah Lee yeon-nim !'' Shin ju-ssi stood up dropping his spoon on the ground, all the heads turned to our direction.
''Let's talk.'' Yeon said looking at Moo yeong who walked with him after pausing and giving me a look. I rushed towards Rang and held his hand,
''Im gonna borrow him for a minute.'' I told Shin ju-ssi.
''It's okay, take your time. He's all yours.'' He couldn't be anymore obvious with that smile, could he ?
I led Rang to a different part of Myoyeongak, and paused when I saw there was no one around.
''What was going on back there ?''
''Back where ?'' Rang asked confused.
''What were you guys talking about with Moo yeong ?''
''Nothing special. I wanted to buy some of his blood. I heard it treats any wound or injury.'' Wanting to buy a former mountain God's blood, that's so Rang.
''That's strange. Since when did you care about treating your injuries ?''
''Since when did you know I didnt ?'' Damn it. Uno reverse.

''I assumed so.''
''I wasn't taking it for myself anyways.'' Huh ? Then who, Yeo hee ? That reminds me,
''When do you have to meet Yeo hee next ?''
''Afternoon. Are you.... Coming along ?''
''I guess I will. I actually didnt know what to do to make you return the favour but I didn't want you let you get away with it just like that. So, tagging along while you complete Yeo hee's wishes is working for me....'' Whatever you are blabbering y/n, it's okay. You're not used to making excuses.
''I never asked.'' He did not just--
''I'll see you when we're leaving then.'' Great, just turn around and keep walkin y/n. He noticed nothing. But honestly, this is getting difficult by each passing day. I am not good at making excuses, if that wasn't obvious until now. Back in the present time, i've always just done what I wanted to. I've been pretty bold with my choices and i've never explained anyone the ‘why's’ and ‘how's’. Be it at work or Rang. Thinking about it, i've given him a hard time by not listening to him and putting myself in perilous situations.
I'll make sure to apologize about that when I get back home. When I get back home....
