39. Seodaemun Prison

''We have all gathered here with two goals. First, to rescue the two hostages safely. Second, abolish the villain of the piece, the Chief Commissioner ring. Our weakness is time. The lunar eclipse will be over at 7 p.m. We must save them and catch the shits within this time.'' Yeon spoke to a group of people, some from Myeoyongak, some from the bandit gang.
''We have five hours.'' Hong joo and y/n spoke at the same time. Yeon cleared his throat before any of the two could react.
''Someone could get hurt or die. If you want to leave, leave now.'' Yeon's words were followed by silence when he sighed and spoke again,
''Is what I want to say with style, but I really need you all.''

''We should get divided to work efficiently. Shin ju-ssi and Doo mok-ssi, you should find out about the hostages. Meanwhile Eun ho-ssi, Hye ja-ssi..... And Hong joo-ssi can prepare to ambush the wedding.'' Y/n led the discussion. The plan was slowly coming together, the search for the hostages was on, Eun ho and the gisaengs reached the wedding venue with weapons and explosives while Hong joo went to pay a visit to Taluipa. Everything seemed to be going accordingly but is it ever that easy ?

''What ?'' Y/n exclaimed getting up from her seat,
''Then what about granny ? Is she alright ? Did she already know this would happen ? Is that why she sent away haraboji prior ?'' Y/n shot a bunch of questions towards the mountain gods.
''Sure, she must know. The thing that she emphasized was on you both returning back on time. She said, the stone cant stay here. If the original mountain god gets his hands on all four treasures, it'll be the end of the world.'' Hong joo relayed & as if on cue, the door slammed open as Rang walked in with his gang members.

''The truck that took them vanished by the independence gate. Apparently the vehicle moved independence activists.'' Hong joo & Yeon share a look then sync-ed,
''Seodaemun prison !''
''No.'' Y/n spoke up in a low voice but audible to everybody. Before she could say more, Yeon carried the conversation.
''You're right, y/n. Something is off. We found them too easily.''
''Even if it is we don't have time for this. You go finish the Chief Commissioner, i'll handle this.'' With that Hong joo left with the bandits and Shin ju as Yeon held Rang back for a second.

''Rang, just be yourself. Keep that cocky attitude you give to everybody, makes you look cool. You're strength is unimaginable, perhaps even to you. But when the time comes, believe in yourself. Cause I do. I believe in you.'' Yeon patted the younger's shoulder.
''That last line didn't feel bad to hear.'' Rang smiled.
''Also, Yeon, I think I should go with Rang.'' Y/n said as Yeon nodded like he already knew.
''What ? No y/n--'' Y/n interrupted Rang,
''It's dangerous ? Then you can keep me safe.'' Y/n held Rang's hand as she walked out with him when Yeon called his name,
''Rang, there's something else I need to tell you.''
''What ?''
''I love--''
''Shut up.''

We reached the gates of Seodaemun prison and the others were checking out for any guards. I was anxious. I tired not to show it on my face and play it cool since morning but it is bothering me. Yeo hee wouldn't be here if only she hadn't met Rang that day. If only I wasn't so adamant on making them talk, if she had left like all the previous times without meeting him, the enemy wouldn't have thought she was close to us. Maybe then she would have been safe.

''Don't.'' Rang spoke holding my hand.
''What ?''
''Dont think what you're thinking. You cannot hold yourself responsible for everything that happens. That's unfair to you.'' Rang always knows what to say.
''Was it that obvious ?''
''No, you're a pretty good liar. But it's me, you know.'' Right, it's you. You always see right through me.
''We're here to save Yeo hee and Jae yoo, we will get them back safely. No ones going to get hurt.'' Rang lightly squeezed my hand that he was holding.
''Right, cause I have you.''
