2. Judge a book by its cover

What was I doing in 1938 ? Let me guess. I wasn't even born. Breath in, breathe out y/n. First I have to find Yeon, right. I have to find Yeon and Shin ju only then can I ever go back home.

But I dont even know where both of them are. I dont have any cash that would work in this time. Nor will the phones work. Why am I always the one who's caught up in things like these ?
No, I cant give up so easily. I need to get back home as soon as possible.

''Agassi, are you looking for someone ? You seem lost." A very beautiful woman asked me. She had long hair and was dressed in white silky robes with flowers on them. But.....
You gotta be kidding me--
She's not human.

''Who are you ?" I asked.
"You may not remember me but I do. You and your father helped so many others like me. I thought I won't be able to see you again after what happened. But it's good see you again. My name is Ye na, do you remember me now ?''

Ye na ? Oh right. I remember now. She's a seonnyeobu-in ( 선녀부인 ). They are also called Fairy spirits or spirits of good hearted women.

They are the spirits of good-hearted young women who unfortunately pass away that are said to live on. In general, they are said to be benevolent. They possess a strong spiritual power, and they often possess shamans who will act as a medium for them.

But I dont need a shaman. Ever since the memories of my past life came back, i've been exploring a part of myself that I didn't knew existed. That makes me wonder how many spirits or ghosts ive seen in my lifetime before I had knowledge of me being gifted.

"Yes, I remember now.''
''You'll need to keep a sharp eye lady y/n. You're back in time so you may come across a lot of things that you may not know about but they'll know about you. You see, all the spirits and demigods were still every where in 1938. It's different from the time you came from.'' She said smiling. How can she warn me while smiling like that ?

''So, have you lost your way ?'' She asked. Oh right, I have to find Yeon.
''To be precise, I just dont know where to go. I didn't have a path to begin with.'' Yeah y/n, you're dumb. She knows that now.
''I'd call you anything but dumb, lady y/n.'' She said giggling. Can she hear my thoughts ? Damn I gotta be careful.
''You dont know Ye na-ssi. I've been in a pickle all day today. And to add to it, now im in a place and time im dangerously unfamiliar with.''

''And im here to help you. All you have to do is walk out of this town until you see a forest. Stop when you hear the river, you'll find people who can help you there.''
''Got it. Thank you so much for your help.''
''It's the least I can do for you. Call for me whenever you need me.'' She said giving a mini bow. I turn to walk where she directed me and glanced back to see she had already disappeared. Right, that's how supernatural beings usually make an exit. Atleast the good ones, the evil ones just latch onto you till death. Trust me, I know better than anyone.

I've walked for a good half an hour. I feel like my legs are going to give up. I dont remember the last time I exercised this much. This is the moment when Rang gives me a piggy back ride. I wonder what he's doing now.
Wait......
I think I hear the river.

I walk closer to the sound to find a group of healthy but wild looking men looking at me. According to Ye na-ssi, these people can help me. But looking at them, they look like thugs.....
No y/n, let's not be judgemental. Do not judge a book by it's cover. Just because they look intimidating doesn't mean they are dangerous.
Right ?

''Excuse me, im looking for someone. Can you help me ?''
''Yeah, sure.'' One of the guys spoke up coming forward.
''Have you perhaps seen a guy in his mid thirties, he is very handsome and tall. He has red hair.'' There I said it.
''Oh yeah. We did see him. He has a nasty attitude.'' That's definitely Yeon.
''Im Boo doo mok and these are my friends. We'll lead you to the way to him.'' He said as the other men walked forward to the direction they were pointing and the one who was doing all the talking until now was walking behind me.

Something doesn't feel right.

As y/n took steps forward, she felt a weird feeling around her. And the feeling kept growing stronger and stronger. The sound of steps behind her had stopped for a second or two. And that's when her unsettling feeling was answered. She knew if she'd turn back it won't be a pretty sight, but did she have a chance ?

Cursing under her breathe, she turned around to see the man who introduced himself as Boo doo mok. He was standing, smiling creepily with a knife in his hand. She turned around to see the rest of the men also in the same stance with different wooden weapons.

Did I just get duped by the fairy spirit ?

They walked closer to her ready to attack. First Boo doo mok swung his knife towards her which she dodged, she kicked him in the chest and tried to run the other way but the rest of them caught up with her in a blink. That's when she knew, they weren't human too.
She made the men run laps after her for a good fifteen minutes around the forest almost making the sight look like a scene from a comic play. They were now catching a breath and y/n knew it was her time to escape.

But an attack took her by surprise when one of them hit the back of her head with a wooden log making her lose consciousness.

''What should we do with her ?'' One of the guys asked Boo doo mok.
''She made us work too hard. Let's just take her to our place.''

I was gonna put this out tomorrow but I was so excited for you guys to read it, I uploaded this along with the first chapter as a bonus chapter.
