|| 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 ||

We were in the middle of a battle with the Neverseen, trying to fend them off in this foggy meadow with lots of trees that only let in bits of moonlight. About two hours later, we had finally won. The war was over.

I looked around, the first people I spotted being Keefe and Sophie, with Keefe gently pulling a severely injured Sophie to her feet. I winced just looking at her and made a mental note to make sure she made it to Elwin. Next was Dex and Fitz, who were just kind of processing what had just happened. Then Linh and Marella, working on dousing the stray flames that the pyrokinetics from the Neverseen had caused. Finally, Maruca, Stina, and Wylie, who were all congratulating one another.

Suddenly, I realized that the one person that I wanted right now to celebrate with was my boyfriend, Tam Song. I looked around for him, even spun in full circles in different areas, but he just simply wasn't there.

It wasn't until Dex came up to me and told me five words that broke my heart. "He's gone. Tam's gone, Biana."

"No," I whispered. I kept repeating it, getting louder, until I was screaming.

Dex wrapped his arms around me, hugging me, my tears soaking through his jerkin.

"I'm sorry, Bi," he whispered. "I know how much you loved—love him."

Suddenly, a branch snapped in the distance and I whipped my head up. "Tammy?" I whispered, clinging to hope. "Tam!" I screamed, pushing Dex away from me and facing the direction the sound had come from.

"Bia?" a voice came from the distance. Tam's voice.

I made a strangled-kind of sound, somewhere between a gasp and a whimper. I took off running, sprinting to meet him. I didn't even care when I constantly tripped over tree roots and rocks, or even when I fell to the ground due to a particularly large log.

All I cared about was getting back to him.

I kept running, sprinting, limping, whatever you wanted to call it. Until finally I collided with him, my head on his chest with my arms wrapped around his neck, his head on top of mine and his arms wrapped tightly around my waist.

The only words were the ones that we so desperately needed to hear right now.

"Together?" I said.

"Forever."
