A Match Made in Misery [Yechan × Jaehan]

Jaehan came to his house and found that his belongings had already been sent to his and Yechan's new house. His mother was waiting for him, looking at him with a serious expression.

She spoke,
"Honey, there's few things I want to tell you. Listen well. No matter what happened, you have to stay by Yechan's side. You've to always help him and always listen to him. This marriage is really important to our family, got it Jaehanie? So I hope you won't do anything stupid to ruin it."

Jaehan just nodded, understanding his mother's worry. However, his mother wasn't done yet. Her tone changed as she asked,
"And did you broke up with that boy?"

Jaehan could feel his heart racing as he lied and said,
"Yeah I did."

His mother was satisfied with his answer and said,
"Good, now you both go and change. We've to go to Jaehanie's new house."
She said, looking at both brothers Jaehan and Taedong.

"You've some clothes up there. Others are sent to the house."
Jaehan nodded as his mom said.

The Shin family was already there when Kim family arrived. Mrs Kim got out from the car and greeted them. Jaehan let out a sigh as he got out from the car with his brother Taedong. Mrs Shin saw them and her face lit up,
"Hi my sweetie Jaehanie!"
Mrs Shin caressed Jaehan's cheek. Jaehan smiled weakly.

They all went inside the house and Jaehan felt Yechan's glare on him. He chose to ignore it. And there was a smell of pleasant food filled the air.

"We prepared a special dinner to celebrate."
Mr Shin said, and Jaehan's mom smiled. "That sounds so nice."
Jaehan's mom said.

They all sat in the dinning table and Shin parents and Jaehan's mom started talking about Jaehan's and Yechan's marriage in the next year. Both Yechan and Jaehan were annoyed by this.

Taedong whispered to Jaehan,
"Hyung, are you really sure you gonna do this?"

Jaehan just nodded while sighing and Yechan who was sitting in front of him was giving him cold looks. Jaehan just rolled his eyes.

Jaehan breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the awkward dinner was finally over. And it was the time for parents to leave.

Mrs. Shin had given a long speech before she left, reminding them of their responsibilities now that they were alone in the house.

"You both have a chef to make meals, he's leaving every evening after his shift. And both of you have to do other house chores because now you are big boys. You don't need anyone to do your work right, Mrs Kim?"
She had said smiling.

Mrs. Kim had agreed, but before she left, she had one last thing to say to her son.
"You remember what I told you earlier, right Jaehanie?"
She asked.

"Yeah, I remember."
He said.

"Good. I'll miss you so much, my darling."
She said, hugging him tightly.

"Me too."
He said, but his voice was dull and emotionless.

Taedong, was the next to hug him goodbye.
"Hyung, I'll miss you so much. I don't want to leave you."
He said, his voice trembling.

"Hey, Taedongie, listen. You can come here anytime, okay? I'll come to see you, too. We can also see each other at school every day."
Jaehan said, trying to sound reassuring. But deep down, his heart was heavy with sadness, knowing that he would no longer live with his beloved brother.

"I love you, hyung."
Taedong said, hugging Jaehan tightly.

"I love you too, my Taedongie."
Jaehan replied, choking back his tears.
