Eda shuffles cards in her hands they flick from her left hand to her right before she holds them between her hands while Owlbert sits opposite, also holding cards while staring intently.

Eda: Watch closely, Luz. Hexes hold em' is the most tricky game on the Boiling Isles. Any proper witch knows how to play.

Y/n: (Leans over to Luz whispering in her ear) Only if you're old like her. I don't like playing it.

Luz: What isn't fun about paper rectangles that old people think are fun. Okay, yeah, I hear it now.

Eda places down a single card as electricity begins sparking all over the cards on each side of the board, scaring off owlbert from the table. The cards on Owlberts' side grow legs and teeth and begin roaring at Eda's cards as they begin to fight.

Eda: Now, when it looks like the deck is stacked against you, that's when you break out the wild card

Eda picks a card from her hand as it glows green before the Owlberts cards burst into flames and get incinerated as the burning ashes float into the sky and join together, spelling out "Winner: Eda."

Eda: Whoo! I win. In your adorable owl face. I love the feeling of victory. It feels. Fluffy?

The others notice that feathers have begun sprouting on Eda's arms.

Luz: Ah, Eda, it's happening again.

Eda: What's happening again?

Y/n: Your curse ya dumb cunt! (I'm from the UK, and I use that word often)

Eda yells in worry as she notices the feathers on her arms.

(I was bored, and I needed a distraction, so here's a little preview while I work on the full chapter)
