In these moments, worlds apart but emotionally intertwined, both Jalen and Letty grappled with the choices they'd made and the uncertain paths that lay ahead.

As Joe's NFL draft day approaches, the anticipation builds. The media attention intensifies, and Joe finds himself swept up in a whirlwind of interviews and scouting events. Through it all, Letty remains his rock, offering unwavering support and encouragement.

Meanwhile, Letty grapples with her hidden secret. The weight of it grows heavier with each passing day, and she struggles to find the right moment to share it with Joe. Her love for him makes her hesitant to burden him with her struggles, especially when his dreams are coming true.

She knew this would kill him, especially since he was her biggest supporter when it came to her sobriety.

On draft day, Joe's name is called, and he realizes his lifelong dream of being selected by an NFL team. He celebrates with his family and friends, but amidst the joy, he can't help but notice the lingering unease in Letty's eyes.

Joe walks into a room and sees Letty in the back, discreetly popping pills. Shock and concern wash over him, his heart sinking at the sight. He takes a deep breath, fighting back the tears welling up in his eyes, and approaches her.

"Letty, what... what are you doing?"Joe's voice trembled.

Letty freezes, her eyes widening with guilt and fear as she realizes she's been caught. She tries to compose herself but finds it difficult to meet Joe's gaze.

"Joe, I... I didn't want you to know. I'm sorry." Letty looks up and trying to throw the bottle down somewhere.

' Sorry? Letty, do you have any idea how scared I am right now? Scared of losing you? Scared of what these pills might do to you?"

Now tears were streaming down her face "I'm scared too, Joe. I'm scared of how weak I feel, how I keep falling back into this vicious cycle. I don't want to lose you either, but I feel so lost."

Joe's anger gives way to an overwhelming sense of concern and love. He walks closer to Letty, gently placing his hands on her shoulders, offering her the support she so desperately needs.

"Letty, I can't pretend to understand what you're going through, but we don't have to face this alone. We can find help, seek guidance, and fight this battle together. Please, let me be there for you."

"Let, I won't let anything happened to you ever, you're safe with me." Joe pulled her into a tight embrace, while placing his hand into her hair keeping her weak body steady.

As the elevator begins to rumble and jerk back to life, both Letty and Jalen are jolted from their exhausted half-sleep. Letty's quick thinking has her shaking Jalen awake just in time for the elevator to lurch downward suddenly. The sudden motion causes Letty to stumble and fall, landing right on top of Jalen.

Jalen's reflexes kick in immediately. He instinctively reaches out, one hand firmly gripping the back of Letty's head to prevent any injury, while the other arm wraps around her waist to steady her. They find themselves in an unexpected and intimate embrace, heartbeats racing as they lock eyes in the dimly lit elevator.

For a moment, time seems to stand still. They're acutely aware of each other's proximity, the warmth of their bodies pressed together, and the subtle shift in the atmosphere. It's a moment that catches them both off guard, their faces inches apart.
