Chapter 20 ~ no longer alone ~

Chet and Tap didn't get back to Tap's cottage until late and even though there were a couple of security guys next door they couldn't see any movement inside Chet's cottage so they assumed the guest must be up at the resort.

They had travelled to look at the property with the separate annex again and this time Tap had involved Chet more and encouraged him to voice more opinions. He had picked his brain about each room, what kind of decor he would like and how he saw the layout.

They had lunch out and then went to Chet's parents to tell them their news that they were dating and even though Tap had Chet's father's blessing he wanted to tell him privately that he intended to ask Chet to be with him long term and he wanted to formally ask for his hand.

Chet's parents were delighted with the news but they had known as soon as they had seen the pair together that there was a connection and they had every confidence that Tap would take care of their son, as Chet's mother had said, what more could any parent want.

The parents wanted their boys to sleep over but Chet told them how he needed to be on standby because of the VVIP guest so they had to settle for a promise that the boys would return soon.

Tap had drove them back to the resort and they had parked in Chet's usual spot but instead of walking around to the beach they had accessed Taps cottage from the front then after making dinner they had taken it outside to dine on the back porch.

After a few curious glances from the security guys they had introduced themselves and assured the guys that they posed no threat. Chet had informed them that he was the acting manager when Mr Junphanatat and Mr Ryou were not in attendance.

After dinner, they sat for a while until the sun set then went back inside to cuddle and watch some tv. Tap knew that he would need to get some more writing done, he hadn't seen Nikki today but they had spoken on the phone and she was gently pressuring him.

His friends were due to arrive from the states tomorrow and he was looking forward to seeing them but he was also was a little nervous about introducing Chet as his partner but at the end of the day, if they didn't accept Chet and support his choices then they weren't true friends to begin with. 

He was beginning a new chapter in his life and he hoped they would choose to be a part of it but if not then so be it. 

The pair went to bed and made love before falling asleep in one another's arms and woke up exactly the same. Chet smiled at Tap as he leaned in for a morning kiss and would have done more given half the chance but Chet insisted on getting up so he could be available if needed.

Tap wondered if Lon and his partner Kiri knew just what a gem they had in Chet, he was committed and stalwart and a valuable asset to the KJ Hotels. Tap was so very proud of him, had it been only a few weeks ago that he had judged him and thought him incapable because of his adorable childlike smile, a smile that he had fast become possessive of.

He knew he couldn't stop Chet smiling at other people and that to try and prevent him was not only toxic but would also change him from the very person he had fallen in love with but that didn't mean he had to like it, especially when he smiled at that Nut guy.

That was one guy he couldn't wait to inform of their new relationship status, in fact he would relish it but then ... Nut hadn't actually done anything bad to him other than try to fight for the guy he liked and he couldn't blame the guy for that, perhaps he should show some compassion.

After washing up and dressing they ate breakfast then went to sit on the sofa to look at the paperwork regarding the house they had viewed. Tap told Chet that he was thinking of putting an offer forward, he wanted to gauge Chet's reaction and his boyfriend had seemed excited for him, that was a good sign.
