Chapter 6 ~ jealousy ~

"I'm Phong Nuthanabun, local tourist information and real estate guy" he said to Tap smiling.

Tap looked at his outstretched hand, he grasped it firmly and shook twice before releasing it.

"good to meet you Mr Nuthanabun" Tap replied.

He didn't like the look of the guy and he certainly didn't like how he was all over Chet and Chet as usual was beaming at the guy completely oblivious to the fact that he was flirting with him.

"please, take a seat both of you, can I offer you any refreshments?" Phong asked them both.

"just water for me Phi" Chet said before Phong looked at Tap.

"same here, thank you"

Phong went to a mini fridge in the back and took out two small bottles of water handing them over before sitting back down at his desk and picking up a pen,

"so Mr Sittanasong, tell me what you are looking for and your budget" he said tapping his pen on a pad in front of him.

"I'd like somewhere close to this village if possible, it's where my grandparents lived, somewhere overlooking the beach that's quiet, I'm a writer and I need peace and quiet. It would be nice if I could find a suitable property ready to move into but if not I don't mind purchasing land and having one built" Tap replied.

"how many bedrooms?"

"mmm I think four, the master with an ensuite, two other bathrooms, a large room overlooking the beach that can be remodeled into a study, that's where I will spend most of my time oh, and a large covered wraparound porch again mainly overlooking the beach, large kitchen, I like cooking and a dining room and perhaps a small lounge"

"wow, that's a pretty big house you want just for one person" Phong said as he wrote everything down.

"I don't expect to be alone for ever" Tap said looking at Chet before adding,

"and I have a lot of friends"

"right, I didn't mean ... ok and budget?"

"I don't have a budget as such but when I see the property or land I like, I will decide if I want to pay the price, I'm not a pushover" Tap said.

"oh, I wasn't suggesting ... I have to ask so I'm not wasting my time showing the client properties that they can not afford" Phong added.

"just show me the properties that match my needs, I'll decide the rest, I'll be going to other agents too, just so you know" Tap told him.

"right, understood so I'll use this information you've given me and see what I can pull up, if you think of anything else please don't hesitate to let me know" Phong said handing Tap a business card.

Tap and Chet stood up to leave.

"we really need to get together Chet so we can catch up, I never see you anymore" Phong addressed the younger man.

"I'm so busy Phong, it's a full time job looking after the resort" Chet replied.

"but you're not there now" Phong said.

"I'm still taking care of a guest though" Chet smiled.

"well I'm sorry to drag your nong away Mr Nuthanabun but this paying guest needs to visit more real estate agencies before lunch" Tap said grabbing Chet's wrist and pulling him through to the front of the store.

"yes, I'm sorry, I'll be in touch sir" Phong said to Tap as they left the store and made their way back to the car.

"don't you think you were a little rude back there?" Chet said as they climbed in.
