Thursday 14th September

Nick's POV

Tonight's the night. Yesterday, I asked Charlie if he would go on a date with me tonight.

*Flashback*

Wednesday 13th September

I'm sat in maths thinking about assignment 4 for the baby project. I'm trying to think of things Charlie and I can do to get to know each other better and then I think of it. A date. It will be a great way to get to know each other and it will be our first date too. It might also cheer Charlie up a bit. I can tell he's been feeling down lately, I think it's to do with what I seen in the bathroom yesterday and his nightmare this morning. I haven't asked him about it, not wanting to overstep. I think he will come to me himself when he wants to. I've decided I'm definitely going to take Charlie on a date tomorrow.

After school I find Charlie sitting in our room, huddled in blankets, watching the TV. "Cold?" I ask gesturing to the blankets surrounding him.

"Maybe" He smiles. I walk over and sit next to him, I carefully wrap my arms around him.

"This okay?" I ask, cautiously.

"Yeah, thanks." He says, relaxing in my arms. We sit there for a while before I remember something.

"Hey Charlie?"

"Hmm?"

"So I was thinking, we've been stressed out about the baby project recently. So, I thought to take our minds off it... I mean if you want to... we could maybe... Umm... I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go on a date with me tomorrow?" I ask him nervously.

It's silent for a while before he answers "I'd love to, Nick."

*End of Flashback*

I've been planning our date all day, and I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't told Charlie what we're doing because I want it to be a surprise, I just really hope he likes it. Charlie hasn't came back from school yet because he has drumming practice until 4, so I have half an hour to get ready and prepare everything.

I start by packing the food. I bought all of Charlie's favourites; oreos, chilli doritos, chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate chip cookies, sausage rolls, cupcakes, cheese and crackers and coronation chicken sandwiches. Once I've got the food sorted I sort out drinks. I make sure to bring some milk, because I know Charlie likes to dip his cookies in it, so I place that in the cooler. I pack some fresh orange and apple juice and some Pepsi max. Maybe I've over packed, but I want everything to be perfect tonight.

Once I've got everything sorted it's around 4pm, so Charlie should be on his way home. Whilst I wait, I quickly get changed into a t-shirt and some jean shorts, but I pack 2 hoodies in my backpack incase it gets cold and some joggers. I also make sure to pack both of our swimming shorts, not wanting to reveal any clues about our date to Charlie, and 3 towels. Once I'm ready I make my way to the living room and wait for Charlie. A few minutes later the door opens and Charlie walks in with his drumsticks in hand. The sight of him makes me smile. He looks up at me, a smile plastering his face. "Hey." He says.

"Hey, I've got everything sorted if you want to get yourself ready and we'll head off?" I reply excitedly.

"Okay. I still can't believe you won't tell me where we're going." He adds with a huff.
