I made sure everything was set up properly, didn't want to screw up on my first day on the job. To absolutely no ones surprise, Rachel Daly and Millie Bright were the first people out of the facility. Their arms were linked and they were singing some song that I didn't know the name of. They spotted the camera and did one of their signature handshakes. That's for sure making the cut.
Next up we had Chloe Kelly and Alex Greenwood, the Manchester City girls. Typically the quieter of the squad, they simply threw up a couple peace signs and waved. Simple yet efficient.
Like a tornado, out came the infamous trio. Georgia Stanway, Keira Walsh, and Leah Williamson. Lucy Bronze was trailing a little further back but that was kind of the norm.
"Morris! Make sure to get my good side!" Georgia made sure to give a little flare for the camera, she knew what she was doing.
Keira just giggled and I spotted Leah giving me a cheeky grin. Obviously I knew who she was but for some reason I got that butterfly feeling people always tell you about. I snapped a few pictures and captured a video, figured that was good for now.
When everyone was out training I was simply walking around taking pictures and tried my best to get action shots of every player. After training concluded I was standing on the edge of the pitch just reviewing my footage. I felt a tap on my shoulder which made me jump a little bit.
"Hey sorry I didn't mean to scare you, just wanted to introduce myself." It was Leah, I was both shocked and somewhat excited.
"Hey! No need to apologize, just didn't expect anyone to be behind me. I'm Emily by the way, Emily Morris." I once again had the butterfly feeling.
"Nice to meet you Emily, I'm Leah." Nothing in the world could've prepared me for how attractive she actually is.
You see pictures, interviews, and press conferences online but for some reason it's nothing like actually seeing her in person. I keep reminding myself that I need to be professional, I'm here to do a job.
"Of course I know who you are, you're the skipper, the one that's going to lead the team to win the Euros." Was that too much? I don't know I'm doing my best here.
"Well that's the plan, it's a team effort, hopefully we can get it done and bring it home." Leah said with a smile on her face.
"I hope so too. It was really nice to meet you, I really should get back and go over all this footage. I'll see you around yeah?" I asked.
"Of course, you seem like a busy lady."
With that, I walked back to my hotel room, excited with what's to come.
