JJ still disliked Emily, even more now because Spencer was spending more time with her. They used to be best friends, JJ even thought at one point that they could be together.  But ever since Tobias Hankel kidnaped him, he has been leaning more on Prentiss.

JJ naturally thought that the only solution, was for her to find someone for herself. She had recently been talking with William LaMontangue, a detective that had meet on a case many weeks earlier.

.

Penelope Garcia was always insistent on the fact that they invited Emily to their outings. But Emily always refused. Her and JJ, were quick friends, since they spent alot of time in the office together. The 2 of them never really made an effort to get to know Elle, Elle was more of a boys, girl. But since Emily joined, and more recently, JJ had had less free time. Her time and thoughts were taken up by someone else. Pen knew that Emily didn't work on a team on her last job, so it would take her some time to get use to it. So she always invited her so she wouldn't be left out, and this time she accepted.

.

Emily finally caved and went on a girls night with JJ and Garcia. Penelope seemed to ask her if she wanted to come every time she saw her. Emily was starting to feel bad, she was trying to include her, but Emily wouldn't let up.

She still contemplated on the day what to go or not. When she finally did arrive, Penelope was over the moon, but JJ didn't look too happy. Emily did her best to be friendly and kind to the blonde, but it was difficult.

Then night was cut off when JJ got a case, but Emily knew that the hate in JJ had lessened.

.

Emily knew she shouldn't have said it. She knew they would ask questions. She also knew she was being irrational fretting about the littlest things. But opening herself up to other people was hard for her.

"So your grandfather lived in the french alps?" Gideon asks

"Yes sir" Emily responds.

"You don't need to be so formal" Gideon says casually. "Why the pentagon?" he always was to the point.

"They gave me an offer, best option I had at the time, so I took it" Emily says, climbing higher up the mountain.

"You know you don't really talk to us, you do talk, but everything you say is hollow, it has no weight to it" Gideon says

"I don't know what you mean" Emily replies, not looking back at him.

"I get that you are new here, and its clear you have been hurt in the past, that's why your finding it hard to trust us" Gideon stops walking.

Emily turns to face him, and then deeply exhales. "I thought there was no inter-team profiling"

"I think your smart enough to realise no one actually follows those rules."

"Okay then, Why are you talking to me, I haven't seen you talk to anyone,  As long as you're talking to me right now" Says Emily

Gideon looks at her then says, "I want to know more about you, you came to this team, without me or Hotch approving it, that only means one thing, Erin Strauss put you on this team, and she has to have a reason"

"I know" Emily says. She knew that no one gets into the BAU as quickly as she does. But Erin Strauss only knew that she worked for the CIA, nothing more, right?

"You have skills that far exceed the standard of the BAU, any agency would happily pick you up, why haven't they?" Gideon studies her expression, which remains blank, "Unless, they already have, and your out now"
