Hailee's POV

"Hey Hailee?"

"Hailee?"

"EARTH TO HAILEE!"

"Jesus Christ! What do you want Griffin?!" I say angrily as I glare up at him from my spot on the couch.

"I've only been talking to you for five minutes! If you were listening you would know what I asked." He says with a smug grin. If I had more energy, I'd strangle him.

"Asshole." I mutter under my breath, but loud enough for him to hear. I hear him chuckle as I turn my attention back to my phone.

"Yea well at least I'm not the one covered in Fruit Loops." He retorts. I take a second to look at my own lap. Sure enough, colorful little circles of sugary goodness litter my lap.

"Why the fuck am I covered in cereal?!" I exclaim at my brother, making him laugh.

Griffin shrugs and gestures as if the answer is obvious. "Because you weren't paying attention to me! I offered to try and land one in your mouth but you were too busy ignoring me to notice. Didn't stop me from trying though."

I roll my eyes at my brother. "God you're so annoying! Don't you have some spark plugs to change or something?"

He takes a deep breath in before sighing it back out, keeping his eyes trained on mine. "You're particularly grumpy today. What gives? What's gotten you so worked up?" He asks.

Do I want to answer that question? No. No I do not. But it's Griffin. He won't accept a non-answer.

I let out an irritated sigh of my own as I toss my phone over into the empty space beside me. "Today is the first day in weeks that I've picked up my phone and decided to just zone out and scroll through social media. And what do I see on the SECOND Instagram story that pops up? My gir.....Y/n....fucking kicking her ass in the gym!"

Griffin eyes me carefully, waiting to see if I'm going to yell anymore or if I'm finished for the time being. When I don't continue, he speaks. "So you're upset at the fact that y/n is working out?" He asks.

I scoff. "Of course I'm not upset that she's working out. She works out all the time. I'm upset that she's working out while she's blasting fucking Truth Hurts!"

Griffin throws his head back and laughs at my explanation. I fail to see the humor in any of it, which adds fuel to the already raging fire inside of me. "What are you laughing at, Griff? I'm glad it amuses you but I don't find it funny at all!"

He stops laughing and looks at me, shaking his head. "You're reading way too much into this, Haiz. It's y/n. She works out. She also likes music. She combined the two. It's not a big deal." He says, trying to extinguish the fire.

I roll my eyes again. I seem to be doing that a lot lately. "Yea sure. Except I never said the story was posted on her account, did I?" I bite.

Griffin's eyes widen for a split second before I see the understanding settle in. He knows. He knows, he has known, and he's kept it from me. "Haiz..." he begins, but I cut him off.

"Don't, Griff. Just don't. It's fine that you didn't tell me. You didn't have to. I'm fucking stupid but I'm not a fool. Of course she ended up at Florence's place." I say, each word stinging worse than the last.

"And it was on Flo's story?" He asks carefully.

"See for yourself." I say, tossing him my phone. He takes a minute and watches the story. It's a short clip, but it only took a second to wreck me. When the video ends, Griffin exhales loudly and hands my phone back.
