Chapter 57: DRASTIC MEASURES

After finishing their investigation of the ancient ruin, Sonia and Hajime decided to go back to their cottages for now. There was a lot on Hajime's mind after talking to Sonia, so he decided to try and think about everything he's been through since arriving on Jabberwock Island once he got back to his cottage. 

From the moment he arrived at Hope's Peak Academy and met everyone, questions filled Hajime's brain. He wanted answers, but he got more questions as time went on. At this very moment, it was starting to get dark, which means Hajime has pretty much spent the rest of the day on his own. As he watched the sunset through his window blinds, Hajime remembered that Kazuichi's plan was going to be carried out tonight. Since he spent time with Sonia at the ancient ruin instead of doing the job Kazuichi wanted him to do, Kazuichi most likely went to the supermarket and got the rope himself.

*Ding dong*

Hajime: '...The doorbell? Is someone here?' Instinctively, his entire body tensed up. He knew it was probably someone like Sonia or maybe Kazuichi, but regardless, he was nervous. Not that he could help it, so much has happened since he arrived at this island. While thinking to himself, he quietly opened his cottage door, but he was greeted by the one person he didn't want to see.

Nagito: "Hello there, Hajime."

Hajime: "N-Nagito?! You... what are you doing here?"

Nagito: "...You sure ask weird questions. I mean... you guys all have business with me, right?"

Hajime: "Huh?"

Nagito: "Chiaki invited me to the lobby a few minutes ago. She said she had something she wanted to talk to me about. Everyone put her up to that, right?"

Hajime: 'He's already found out about our plan?!'

Nagito: "Looks like... that's a bingo, huh? But it's good timing. I have some business with you guys too."

Hajime: "You do?"

Nagito: "If everyone's already at the lobby, that saves me a lot of trouble. And... I want you to come to the lobby too, even though you're not directly involved with the plan."

Hajime: "You... even know that..."

Nagito: "Just as I thought... you were left out, huh. But that's understandable. Since you're the only one who isn't an Ultimate, you've basically been left out from the start."

Hajime: "..."

Nagito: "Hehe, I'm only joking."

Hajime: "Your joke... isn't funny."

Nagito: "You shouldn't take me so seriously. Oh well... anyway, let's hurry over to the lobby. I don't know the details of your plan, so I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm curious about what you guys are gonna do to me. When we first arrived at this island, we were friends who explored this place together! So let's go already!"

Hajime: "...Fine, let's go."

Nagito: "Yeah." Hajime had no clue what Nagito was thinking, but as long as they capture him, they'll have the advantage. 

Hajime: 'I won't let him do as he pleases anymore!'

If Chiaki summoned Nagito, then the plan has already started. Fuyuhiko and Akane should be waiting inside the hotel lobby for Nagito. With slight hesitation, Hajime left his cottage with Nagito following him and started walking towards the hotel. Once at the entrance, Hajime stopped in front of the door, believing that he'll be captured if he goes inside first.
