NEW YORK CITY

ATHENA PUT HER HEARING AIDS IN, The first sound she heard that morning was the couple next door screaming at each other for the third time this week, the wall in her apartment were paper thin. "Fuck you!" She heard the women scream.

"Oh for fuck sake" She hissed quickly sitting up. "Shut the fuck up!" She yelled fist pounding against the wall.

Everything went quiet for a second. She could finally hear herself think.

"Mind your own business bitch!" The man snarled back. She rolled her eyes, switching the shitty lamp on her bedside table on. The light bulb barely flicking on.

She grabbed the bottle of pills on the stand. Her headache rang louder as the neighbours continued to yell at each other. She popped the lid open before emptying the last two pills into her hand before quickly swallowing them.

"Can't sleep, might as well. Get some work done" She mumbled standing up from her bed from her ran down apartment- God, living in New York was terrible.

She grabbed her next file for her next PI case and grabbed her headphones to cancel out the noise. She plug the jack into her phone but before she could put them on there was a knock at the door.

"Fuck" She cursed setting her stuff down on the bed and went to the front door.

"FBI" Agent Rossi and another man said to her holding up their badges. She furrowed her brows confused.

"Rossi?" Athena questioned.

"Athena" Rossi replied with a nod.

"You two know each other?" Agent Morgan questioned putting his badge back into his pocket.

"Old case"

"Can I help you two?" She questioned crossing her arms over her chest.

"We were referred to you" Morgan told her. She stared at him confused. "The cops around here are basically useless. One of the locals referred us to you. Can we come in?"

"Yeah, sure" She sighed, opening the front door for them to come in. "Ignore the yelling from next door" As the couple next door continued to yell at each other.

"Do you have any recent cases where the victims were strangled?" Rossi asked her. She walked over to her desk looking at the top files.

"Uh, not strangulation but suffocation. Plastic bag over the head" She said flipping through the pages before handing it to Rossi and Morgan.

"Same victimology, the only thing that's changed was the M.O" Rossi mumbled looking through the file with an impressed look on his face. "You figured all this out?" He asked the women. Athena nodded her head slightly. "Wow"
