QUANTICO, VIRGINIA

PENELOPE, SPENCER, AND ATHENA stared at the picture in amusement as Emily sat at the desk beside them. "It's remarkable. Something like this makes you question everything you thought you knew" Spencer said to the other two agents.

"Yeah. It's like the monolith in 2001" Garcia added with a shocked tone in her voice.

"So, there was like an actual time when something like this was socially acceptable?" Athena questioned glancing two the blonde and brunette.

Garcia nodded her head, "Yeah but this is especially sad, though" looking at the picture of Emily from high school finally getting a reaction from the woman.

"All right, very funny, guys. Very funny" Emily said to them with an unamused tone taking the picture from Penelope's hands. "What did you do to it?"

"Do?" The blonde questioned with a chuckle.

"You obviously altered it in Photoshop or something. That hair..." Prentiss trailed off staring at the photo in shook before glancing back to them.

"Oh, no, pussycat. That's...that's all you. Garfield High, class of '89" Penelope replied with a smirk.

"You really didn't change anything?" She questioned.

"I hacked it. As is. You're seriously trying to tell me you don't remember rocking that look?" The blonde asked her. Emily shook her head.

"Perhaps your lack of recognition stems from a dissociative fugue suffered in adolescence" Spencer suggested from his seat. "Say at a Siouxsie and the Banshees concert?" He teased as they chuckled. Emily shook her head.

"It's so weird. It's like some other life" Emily put the picture down seeing Hotch walking over from the corner of her eye. "What was that about?"

"Brian Matloff"

"Uh, who?" Carter asked the other agents.

"A.k.a the Blue Ridge Strangler" Reid replied. She nodded remembering reading it on the news a couple of years back.

"Oh, yeah, three victims in the Blue Ridge Parkway"

"Allegedly, he was never convicted. He slipped into a coma before he could be tried" Reid added, the others nodded.

"Looks like they're finally going to get their chance. He just woke up" Hotch told the four. They shared a quick glance of 'what the fuck'.

"...After the raid on Matloff's apartment, we discovered he had another area of interest, Native American mythology. We realized our profile wasn't complete" Morgan finished explaining sitting down at the round table.
