LA PLATA COUNTY, COLORADO

ATHENA SAT IN THE BACK SEATS OF THE CAR, as Emily and the state worker were sitting in the front. "Tell us about the 911 call" Athena said to the state flipping through the file in front of her.

"I believe the he that they refer to is the church's leader, Benjamin Cyrus" The state worker replied from the driver's seat.

"Benjamin Cyrus. No criminal record" She shook her head looking at Cyrus's record. "No record at all, really. What else do you know about him?" glancing up to look at them.

"It's rumored that he's practicing polygamy and forced marriages"

"Any idea who the caller is?" Emily questioned.

"Uh, Jessica Evanson is the one whose age fits, but we can't be sure" The woman began, Athena sighed. "So I negotiated interviews with all the children. It wasn't easy"

"Well, considering their view on outsiders, it would be best if you didn't identify us as FBI..." Emily started to say passing her badge and gun to Athena as she put it under the seats doing the same with her own. "Just use our real names, introduce us as child victim interview experts"

They pulled up in front of the building as a man sat on the edge of the steps leading to the door. The three got out of the car as the state worker was first to speak. "I'm looking for Mr. Benjamin Cyrus"

"You found him" The man on the step his gaze staying on his book.

"I'm Nancy Lunde. We spoke on the phone regarding the allegation" Lunde told him. The man took off his glasses closed the book and stood up.

"Savages they call us because our manners differ from theirs" Cyrus said to them walking closer to them.

"We didn't come here to hear you cite scripture, Mr. Cyrus" The woman replied in an an unamused tone.

"Pretty sure, it's Benjamin Franklin" Athena said to her. The woman looked at her confused.

"Athena Carter, Emily Prentiss" nodding to the two agents. "They're child victim interview experts"

"How far from God's word must we have strayed for there to be the need to invent a job called 'child victim interview expert'" The man told the two.

"We wish we didn't have to be here" Prentiss answered with a nod.

"So do we" The man shot back. "But you are welcome nonetheless. The children are in the as I indicated"

"...We go to school, we do our chores and we treat ourselves and each other with the respect God demands" Jessica explained to the two women.
