Stevanna

"I'm so happy that you came" I said to his welcoming smile.

His arms wrapped around me as I felt his body heat. "Stevanna you know I'll always have your back" Austin spoke as I held onto him a little while longer.

He came over for my support because Bryan was coming to pick up his stuff. Austin let go of me as we sat on my bed. Before sitting on the bed he handed me the NDA.

Around the bed were some of Bryan's things that I had put in box's. It just hurt to look at them and be reminded of him. Everything began to smell like him, I needed everything that reminded me of him out.

"Please don't tell me your still blaming Janet" he asked tilting his head forward.

"No, I understand now that this was my fault. In my next relationship I know now that I have to make these things clear"

A warm toothless smile appeared on his face. All of a sudden we could hear the front door to the apartment slam. "That must be him" I mumbled rolling me eyes.

Austin followed me from the bedroom to the front door. Bryan stood there with his hands in his pants pockets holding his chin up. "Hey" I said.

"Hey" he avoided my eyes.

There was a awkward silence between us as we stood there avoiding eye contact. "I'll be in the other room if you need me Stevanna" Austin said breaking the said silence.

I nodded my head at him as he gave me a toothless smile. He was such a good friend to me. Once he left us Bryan finally locked his eyes on me. He held so much emotion in his eyes as he clenched his jaw.

"Here the landlord wants you to sign this before you leave" I said handing him the paper and pen.

He eventually shrugged his shoulders before holding the paper against the wall. I watched him lift up the pen with his right hand to begin signing the paper. I could feel a huge weight being lifted off of my shoulders.

Bryan then turned around handing me the paper. "Ok I'll grab my things" he said before storming past me.

He made it quick as he grabbed his things. Bryan was out before I knew it. Before he left he turned around facing me. I watched as he forced his mouth open to talk.

"I won't tell anybody about your real parents. Stevanna I did a lot of thinking and I don't want to do that to you. I wish you the best" he said giving me a awkward smile before looking at the floor.

Bryan closed the door behind himself before I could say anything. As I sat in silence thinking to myself how much I'll miss what I had with Bryan, Austin's voice woke me out of my daze. "Hey, is he gone?"

I turned around to face him. "Yeah" I answered wrapping my arms around myself.

He nodded his head. "And he signed the papers" he raised his eyebrow smirking at me.

"Yup he signed the papers" I said frowning my face.

He stared at me tilting his head. "Why do you look sad?"

"Because he signed the paper but told me that he wishes the best for me. And he's not planning on telling anybody about the truth"

"And you believe him"

I nodded my head. "He had a sincere look on his face the whole time"

"Ok so what are you going to do with that NDA? I say you should keep it just in case if he decides to change his mind"

"Your right, I'll keep it. Thanks again for everything"

He walked up to me before wrapping his arms around me. "You know I always got your back"

After everything I had to pay a very special person a visit. James and I haven't spoken in a while now.

So I went to his address finding myself at a little yellow house. I knew somebody was home because there was a Honda parked outside. After knocking on the door I got no answer after waiting three minutes. I dropped my head feeling like a failure before I finally heard the door knob twist.

I lifted my head up watching as that door swung open to a frail light skin man with curls. His eyes widened looking at mine before he smiled. I could see his eyes begin to water.

"Stevanna" he cried before pulling me into his embrace. He hugged me tight as I hugged him back taking him in. "Hey dad"

He brought me inside and sat me down before we caught up. "Oh my god Stevanna" he said. "I'm so sorry, I blame myself for all of this" he said as he began to shift his eyes from me.

"No dad—"

"No it's my fault. I hope you don't blame Janet for this. She was young, living under her fathers roof. She had to play by his rules. But me" he chuckled. "What excuse did I have? None! I was a fucked up heroin addict. I wasn't strong enough or mature enough to be there for you. On top of that Jospeh kicked me out. I wanted to be there for you. It killed me everyday but I would get high to numb the pain" I watched as his eyes grew glossy.

"If I was sober then, maybe we wouldn't be in this situation. Maybe I would've stood up to Joseph and you'd still be with Bryan. I'm sorry Stevanna"

"I know dad, you told me you were sorry too many times, I can't keep count" I chuckled trying to lighten the mood.

He took off his glasses to palm his face. I could hear him weeping. "Dad, I want to tell you something that I haven't told anyone" I said making him lift his head up to me.

He stopped his crying looking at me with his damp face. "Dad I'm pregnant with Bryan's baby"

His eyebrows frowned before he looked at my stomach. "I'm not keeping it" I said making him shift his eyes back to mine.

His brows softened. "Why not?"

"I'm afraid the kid will be damaged like me. I have mommy and daddy issues. Bryan hates me I can't do that to my child"

He nodded his head slowly. "If that's what you wanna do I'll support it" he said.

"Thank you dad, please don't tell anyone. This is between you and me"

He nodded his head again before pulling me into his hug. "So you haven't told anybody else huh?"

"No just you"

"That must mean you really trust me" he said smiling.

"I do, anyways tell me about you" I said changing the subject.

"I'm good, your sister Kristinia is doing a show. It's called Growing up Hip Hop. So I'm excited to see that" I could see the joy in his eyes as he brought up her name.

Kristinia is my younger sister that he had after me. James actually raised Kristinia and stayed in her life. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of her. James and I continued to catch up.  I left feeling closer to him than ever before.
