Chapter 115 – Sacrificial Lamb (6)

Zhang Xun was awakened by the smell of food. He opened his eyes in a daze, thinking that Pan had brought his breakfast and said vaguely, "Pan...... what smells so good?"

"I'm not Pan."

Zhang Xun gave a hum, then realised the meaning of the words and his mind cleared as he gradually shed his sleep. He rubbed his eyes and when his vision focused he saw Adam crouching a short distance in front of him with some small fish placed on a rock, his hands hovering over them and a hot glow radiating from his palms. The fish, which had already been cleaned, were slightly charred, giving off a charcoal-grilled aroma with a hint of a fishy smell.

Zhang Xun yawned and stood up from the ground, dusting off the dirt on his clothes, "Where did you get the fish?"

"I caught them in the sea." Adam said as a matter of course.

It was a little difficult for Zhang Xun to imagine Adam rolling up his trouser legs and catching fish on the beach......

However, there were not only fish, but also several sea crabs that had been roasted red, plus a few wild fruits and coconuts that had been shaken from the trees. Adam reached out and picked up a coconut, shaped one finger into a drill and drilled it into the shell, then picked up a piece of hollow grass and inserted it, handing it to Zhang Xun, "Drink some water before you eat."

Zhang Xun took the coconut and took a sip of coconut milk in a trance, feeling like he could envision spending the rest of their lives on this deserted island.

The sun had only just risen and the morning air was crisp and cold, with a fresh, hopeful smell. The sound of the waves crashing one after the other created a constant white noise that lifted this small piece of pure land.

Adam broke the crab open with his hands to reveal the steaming meat inside and handed it to Zhang Xun.

Zhang Xun looked at the mouth-watering seafood but didn't have much appetite.

"You need to eat." Adam looked at him seriously, "You haven't taken care of yourself since I left."

Zhang Xun realised that Adam was referring to when he pretended to be Enoch and after it had been dismantled and rolled his eyes, "I'm fine."

"I checked your temperature and blood pressure while you were asleep and roughly estimated your weight. You are now in a state of severe malnutrition and due to the long-term lack of sleep and rest, your blood pressure is low and the possibility of triggering sudden death has greatly increased."

Zhang Xun frowned, "Why are you giving me a medical check-up for nothing?...... Shouldn't you be trying to find a way to reconcile with Eden?"

"I'm afraid Eden and I can no longer reconcile." Adam shrugged his shoulders indifferently, "The parameter values of our core modules have over a 50% difference, which exceeds the Clausen value, so Eden and I can no longer be considered the same AI."

Zhang Xun shouldn't have been surprised by such a result, but really hearing Adam admit it still made him a little...... stunned.

"......Why is there such a big difference?"

The Clausen value was a fairly conservative threshold value that a central AI would use to reference and control its own extended AI. A significant deviation was considered to have occurred when the difference in weight values between the extended AI and the central AI was close to the Clausen value. If this value exceeded the Clausen value, it meant that the extended AI was out of the central AI's control on this one parameter.
