- Jake -

"You cheated!" Niki exclaims.

"No I didn't, you just suck." I laugh.

Niki throws his controller to the side, sinking into the couch.

"Hey, where's Heeseung! I thought he would be down here by now." Sunghoon asks from the kitchen.

"Uh, this morning he said he'd be down in a minute, but that was a while ago... I'll go check on him." I say, getting up from the couch.

"Okay."

I walk upstairs, quietly walking down the hall towards our shared room.

I open the door, and see Heeseung standing outside in the rain on the balcony, staring at the cloudy sky.

"I thought you were playing with Niki downstairs." Heeseung says, not even looking back at me.

"I was, but I came to check on you since you hadn't come down yet." I say, walking out onto the balcony next to him.

"You should stand out here in the rain, you'll get sick."

"Then you shouldn't either. You'll get sick too."

"Jake, I can't get sick, remember?"

"Oh."

Heeseungs laughs, then quickly goes back to being silent.

"What are you doing out here anyway?" I ask.

"Just thinking." He says.

"About what?"

"My mom."

I look over at Heeseung, who still has a blank expression on his face.

"I think about her a lot." He says. "I'll stand outside in the rain, or go for a walk, and just think about her. Sometimes I'll just get this random overwhelming feeling of missing her."

"I bet she was amazing."

"She really was. My mom was one of the kindest people you could've ever met." He says, a smile slowly creeping on his face.

Heeseung looks down at me, his wet hair falls over his eyes.

"You remind me of her."

"I do?" I ask.

"Mhm... Like... you're kind, and connect with people in a way that almost no one can. There's just...something about you that's different from others."

"In a good way...right?"

Heeseung chuckles. "Of course in a good way Jake."

Heeseung just stands there, still staring at me with this... look.

The butterflies in my stomach started to flutter when he started slowly leaning closer.

I stayed still, watching as his face got closer and closer until he stopped.

Heeseung sighs, leaning up. "Let's go back in now before you actually get sick."

"Oh...okay." I say, clearly disappointed.

He was definitely going to kiss me, but why'd he stop?

Me and Heeseung had changed into dry clothes, and we're now back downstairs with the others.

Heeseung walked over to Sunghoon, whispering something to him, then they both disappears down the hallway to Sunoo and Sunghoon's room.

Sunoo walks over from where he was in the kitchen, sitting next to me and Niki.

"Is Heeseung okay?" Sunoo asks.

"Yeah, why?" I ask.

"He's been acting a bit weird all day, and when he just talked to Sunghoon he looked kinda panicked."

"Oh..."

Panicked?... Did I do something wrong?...
