"Hana! What are you doing!?" Sumire shouted, running over to her daughter worriedly.
"He's my father, isn't he!? She's my half-sister, isn't she!? She ruined our family, didn't she!?" Hanasita shouted angrily.
Sumire looked flabbergasted for a minute. "What are you talking about?"
"I heard... everything you and Hima-Sensei were talking about! I-I-I..." Hanasita began breathing heavily as tears flowed down her cheeks.
Sumire bent down to her daughter's height. "Han, is that what's bothering you?" Sumire inquired in a soft and motherly tone.
"I know you miss my father because whenever I ask about him, you're always sad. And you seemed close with the Hokage! But-but...! I wanna go home! I CAN'T BE HERE ANOTHER MINUTE!!" Hanasita shouted.
"What about the Chunin Exams?" Sumire inquired gently.
"Who cares!?" Hanasita replied, preventing tears from falling.
"Han, I care. Maybe stay, just for that. Your friends need you... You don't have to be anywhere near them, just do this for your teammates, okay?" Sumire said softly.
Hanasita was glad she had an understanding and loving mother. She wiped the tears that threatened to fall and nodded with determination sparkling in her eye. "I won't be a coward! I'm gonna make their lifes a living hell!"
"T-That's not what I meant," Sumire murmured, but Hanasita didn't hear. She was too determined.
"Let's go, Mom!" she said.
"N-No, Hana, let's be civil. Now, I'm sure that they're living a happy life. We shouldn't interfere in their happy lives..." Sumire said softly.
Hanasita stared at the ground, clasping her hands together. "But Mom, you said you've loved Dad since you were kids... And that stupid Hokage who you claim as your best friend swooped in and stole him. And Sanada's not even that much younger than me! Meaning, she probably knew who my father was because she's your "best friend", but still baby trapped him!" Hanasita shouted.
"Hold up! Go back. How the heck do you know what baby trap means?" Sumire questioned her only daughter.
"It's complicated," Hanasita said, looking away.
"Nah-uh! You tell me!" Sumire said, grabbing hold of her daughter, who was laughing.
"Ha ha ha! Mommy, stop!"
From the window of the Uzumaki household, Sanada watched them with sparkling eyes. She couldn't hear anything they were saying, but Hanasita seemed to be having fun with her mother. Sarada never made time for Sanada, always passing her onto her grandparents and aunt. She was too busy with being Hokage to care about having fun with her daughter.
Her father, on the other hand, always tried to make time for Sanada, but it was hard because he was the Shadow Hokage. He was away a lot, and he mostly prefered to stay at his childhood house instead of living with her and Sarada. Sanada had asked Sarada for another sibling, but whenever Sarada asked Boruto for it, he refused, saying one is enough.
Sanada wished she was as close as Hanasita is with her mom.
Meanwhile, Hanasita managed to push her mother off. "Mom!! Stop!"
"Why? You embarrassed that you actually have a loving mother?" Sumire teased.
"Mom, you know that's not true!" Hanasita said.
Sumire laughed. "I know. Come on, Yuri-san will probably be wondering where we are," she said, taking Hanasita's hand.
Sanada watched them walk away, hand in hand. She'd die to have affection from her mother like Hanasita did. Her eyes held sadness, pain. She turned away from the window, seeing Himawari gathering everyone in the kitchen again. She sat down next to Hinata, confused as to what her aunt was doing.
"We need to talk, especially you, Onii-chan!" Himawari said, pointing at Boruto, who Sarada leaned against.
"What's this about, Hima-chan?" Sarada inquired.
"Let me talk, would ya!?"
"Someone's moody..." Kawaki whispered to Boruto, who nodded.
"As I was saying, now that Sumire's back, what's gonna happen...?" Himawari inquired. Everyone exchanged looks, but Sanada was still so confused.
"She is a single mother and she seems to be raising Hana-chan good without that idiotic father who just dumped her pregnant," Kawaki said. "Maybe we all — all our friend group — can try and be friends again. It'll be hard since Team 15 still feel betrayed that she never told them she was leaving and they had to hear it from Sarada, but we could work it out."
Himawari looked down to the ground, then looked at Sarada, who was shaking her head silently. Himawari didn't need confirmination of who Hanasita's father is, she could just tell, and by what Sumire had told her. She was looking at Sarada, silently saying she was going to tell. Sarada didn't want her to. She wanted her to at least wait until the marriage was over with, so Boruto couldn't leave her once he found out.
"But that idiotic father is in this room right now," Himawari said.
Everyone went quiet in confusion, but Sarada knew. "Hima-chan, if Sumi-chan didn't want to announce it, I don't think you have the right to announce it," she said.
Himawari ignored her.
"What do you mean, Hima?" Hinata asked her youngest child.
Himawari took a deep breath. "Think about it for a moment. Hanasita resembles us a bit. And I know who the father is, so does Sarada-chan, right?" Sarada looked down as all eyes were on her. "You knew right from the moment she told you, yet you still went and hooked up with him."
"What are you talking about, Hima?" Boruto inquired.
Himawari laughed. "Oh! Don't tell me you haven't noticed! Onii-chan, she's your daughter!"
