As Reuben lies on his beanbag, he hears his mum and Brill arguing downstairs and gets up to listen to the conversation. He sneaks downstairs and watches from the railing.
"Sis, if I could find you, then it's only a matter of time before the rest of the ocean can, too," Brill explains.
"I can handle this on my own," Agatha says.
"Just come home and talk to her. She wants to help Reuben," Brill sadly says.
"She never just helps, though, does she?" Agatha scoffs.
"At least tell Reuben the whole truth," Brill sighs.
"Reuben's life is on land now, Brill. I know you mean well, but you need to stop. Go home and let me take care of my son," she says as she pushes Brill out and closes the door.
"Aggie...," Brill says sadly, before leaving from the front door.
"Ugh, I can't believe Mom is still hiding things from me," Reuben says punching the wood next to him.
Nessie them vomits out Brills party favour and then looks up with a bright idea.
"Nessie, you tiny genius. That guy can't hide anything," Reuben says he sneaks out after his uncle.
"Brill?" Reuben calls as he looks for him.
"Where is he? Where is he? Where is he?" he repeats as he runs through the town looking for him.
As he stops at at railing near the water, he suddenly hears a scream.
"Brill?" he calls as he runs to the docks and sees his uncle being attacked by some seagulls.
"Get off me, you feathery demons. Ow! You winged dopes. Ow, hey, hey. Save yourself. It's too late for me," Brill says as Reuben take the corn dog and throws it in the ocean.
"Forget the corn dog," Reuben says.
"Did you see that? They took my stick snack," Brill complains.
"Uncle Brill, focus," Reuben says as he grabs his face, "I need to know."
"Mm-hmm?" Brill hums as Reuben lets go of his face.
"Who sent you here?" he asks.
"Mmm. No. No, no, no. No. Please don't ask me things. I'm so bad at keeping secrets. Just talk to your mom," he says.
"My mom won't tell me anything," Reuben yells frustrated.
"Well, neither will I. She should be the one to tell you about your grandmother," he says as his face drops in realisation.
"My what?" Reuben asks.
"Nothing. I didn't say grandmother. What? Uh, I said landlubber. Ahoy?" Brill tries to cover.
"I have a grandmother?" Reuben said not listening to Brill.
"No, no, no. Please, uh, don't listen to me. I don't know what I'm saying. I'm hungry, and I'm traumatised from before," Brill continues
"Wait," Reuben says.
"It's the birds...," Brills says.
"If only the women in our family, besides me, turn into giant krakens, then she's a giant kraken, too," Reuben realises.
"Uh, let the record show I kept that part a secret," Brill says in defeat.
"Is she here?" Reuben asks.
"What? No. Your grandmother would never leave the ocean. Honestly, I don't know how your mom did it all these years. Land is not built for a giant kraken," Brill explains.
"You're right," Reuben says.
"Mm-hmm."
"It's not. I don't know the first thing about being a giant kraken. But it's not fair to keep me in the dark," Reuben says.
"Nope. Not at all," Brill agrees.
"I can't keep waiting for answers. I need to take control of my own life."
"You go, boy."
"I'm a kraken."
"Preach."
"And if I want answers, then there's only one person who can help me."
"Your mom."
"My grandmother."
"Yeah. No. What? I can't let you do that," Brill says as he picks up Reuben and puts him down on the other side, "Your mom will kill me."
"Uncle Brill... you have been more helpful than you can imagine," Reuben says as he hugs his uncle.
"You know, this is the first hug we've had in 15 years," he say sadly.
"Then I'm really sorry," Reuben says.
"For what?" Brill asks.
"This," Reuben says.
He grabs a corn dog from the bin behind Brill and puts it in front of him.
"Oh! A stick snack," Brills says happily as Reuben moves away.
A seagull lands on Brills head and he shakes as more appear and attack him.
"Help!" Brill yells as Reuben jumps on top of the railing and looks down at the water below.
He sighs to calm himself and jumps inside the water. As he does, he starts to glow blue and grow to his actual size. He laughs as he does a few spins and summersaults as Brill swims in front of him.
"Real clever with the stick trick. I admit that, but...," he says and then looks up at Reuben, "Whoa."
"Yeah. It's kind of amazing," he brags as he does a summersault.
So, there's no way I'm getting you out of the water now, is there?" Brill asks.
"Not by a long shot," Reuben says.
"Well, follow me," Brill says as he swims away.
"Wait, Uncle Brill. Whoa, oh," Reuben says as he tries to follow him but struggles to swim but eventually gets the hang of it.
He swims happily through the ocean, eventually coming across a school of whales.
"Clarence? Clarence J. Whifferton. I'm so glad you made it. You look great," Reuben says as he rubs his neck and swims away from.
Reuben continues to swim through the ocean doing many tricks and swimming past some jellyfish.
"Uncle Brill, being in the ocean is more wonderful than anything I could imagine," he says happily
"It only gets better from here," Brill said.
The two then swim down into a cavern where a current with blue florescent lights is. Reuben yells happily as he is dragged into the current and spun around many times and eventually stops spinning.
"Wow. That was wild," Reuben says.
"Welcome to the Kingdom of the Krakens," Brill says.
"Whoa," Reuben says as he swims towards the castle that looks like a kraken.
