Chapter 15: Changes

Sherrys POV
Location: Amari's Home

9:17 am

   I open my eyes and let out a muffled groan. I didn't want to get up, it was so warm. Maybe a little too warm. I attempt to get up when I feel a small tug at my waist. I look down and notice the very obvious arm draped over my side. I follow the arm to the body and spot Amari fast asleep, snoring away. How could I forget, I came in and slept in her room last night, duh. A yawn escapes my mouth as I slowly remove myself from her grasp.

   I sneak out the room and head over to mine. I got dressed and brushed my teeth. I headed downstairs and ate some cereal, I fed the babies and let them out. I cleaned up their messes and sat down on the couch, putting on a movie to watch.

   I decided to let everyone sleep in, with everything that happened yesterday they deserve a little rest. And that gives me more time to learn about this system thing. I only know as much as the girls do, which is still basically nothing.

   "Hey system."

Yes Miss Curt?

   "Sherry is fine. But I have a few questions."

"What exactly is the system? Like, where did it come from, are you an actual person or an AI?" I spoke with genuine curiosity, I do want to know more about the system and where it came from. I mean, a weird magic thing appears out of nowhere and in the middle of an apocalypse at that.

   My mouth is left agape as I sat there speechless. Was I just sassed by an AI?

   'Well then, can you bring me to the menu.'

   I already know what the map looks like, so let's try the inventory. A screen then popped up in front of me, it had multiple boxes with only one occupied space. A small crystal like symbol was displayed on the box at the top right corner. And in the corner of that box was a number, 29.

   29 what? I press the box when a small screen with numbers appeared. I'm guessing I had to choose how many I wanted to extract. I press one and watch as a small light shines above my hand. Not a second later a small red diamond shaped crystal dropped on front of me. It looked extremely shiny and valuable, almost like a ruby.

Affects: Recovers stamina & fatigue, can be used to upgrade or enhance E Rank (and below) items/objects. Can be used to create small weapons such as knives and/or daggers.
Worth: 20,000 PP

   Recovers stamina huh. But it can also be used to upgrade items, or at least E Rank items. I flipped it around in my hands, observing everything about the it. So I can do almost any thing with this? I look over to the tv and hover the core in front of it.
