Lana
They came.
Right on time, but they came nonetheless. Cutting it really fucking close, but still they came. They saved me.
I could hardly forget the moment, I saw the man in the doorways body drop. I could never forget the satisfaction seeing the fear in Petyr's eyes when Dmitri came into the room.
I hardly recognized his eyes but I could never forget his face. He snatched Petyr off me in seconds, grabbing him by the throat.
I had little time at all to process anything until Yeremy laid a gentle hand on me. I jumped in his arms instantly. I hardly wanted to leave them even when the doctor was examining me.
He promised to hold my hand, however and that made me let go.
The doctor was gentle with me, but there wasn't much for her to do. Aside from the punch, I didn't think I had any more physical wounds.
I told her about the cuts in my mouth from when Guillermo slapped me but she said those would heal on their own.
I didn't let Yeremy leave, not even when I took a shower. I made him stand there facing the wall as I scrubbed my body.
There wasn't enough soap in the world to shake the disgust I was feeling but I tried to mask it with relief. They were there before anything happened.
Outside from a few touches, I was okay.
Still I felt violated. Still I tried not to cry as I wrapped myself up in a towel, but it was no use.
"Lana," Yeremy took a deep breath.
"You can turn around," I said, wiping my eyes, "I'm okay."
"Okay," he nodded, looking carefully at my face, "They brought you some clothes, I'll go get them."
Within minutes I was dressed in very dull grey sweats and a pair of hospital slippers. I sat down on the bed waiting for my father and brother, still clinging to Yeremy's hand.
They wanted to know what happened from when I was taken to when they found me. So I told them every detail like I was reciting off a book instead of describing events of my own life. They were careful not to interrupt me and I was careful not to look any of them in the eye.
I wouldn't get through it all if I had.
I took a deep breath once I finished and it was lucky that I had because my father had scooped me up and squeezed him in his arms to the point I couldn't breathe and Dmitri followed right after.
They both planted their kisses and touched my hair as I smiled underneath their touch.
I think the only way I'd feel safer than I was right now was if I was still holding Yeremy's hand.
"Fuck, I'm so glad you're safe," Dmitri breathed.
"I love you so much," my father said, before just barely letting go of me.
He tucked some of my hair behind my ear, "I am so sorry this happened."
I nodded knowing already how he felt. I didn't care about that. I wanted to know what was next now. Petyr might be a non factor now but that didn't mean Akio, Seamus, and Manuel were just going to back down now.
"What are you going to do about them?" I asked.
Dmitri looked surprised I had asked but my father didn't which was why he was the first to answer, "We will have to get answers out of that piece of shit first but we're now officially warring."
