Lana
My father insisted on dragging me around to places in attempt to keep me from lounging around the house. I found it strange that he was so okay with me lounging around four weeks ago, now all of a sudden I'm a shut in.
Right now he was having a meeting with Eunhyeok Kang, head of the Korean mafia and apparently someone with deep issues concerning Akio Hamada.
Father wouldn't give me the specifics but I didn't really want them. I didn't really care.
As long as Mr. Kang was willing to help us put Akio down, then specifics were the last thing I needed.
"Lana, fix your posture," my father ordered.
I was slumping in my chair, this dress was too tight and I was starving. Where was Yeremy with an apple when you needed him?
I groaned, adjusting my posture and straightening out my blue dress, "He's late."
"He's young according to my sources," my father shrugged, "I'll give him a pass."
"Because he's young?" I raised my brow.
"Because he's doing me a favor."
The door opened and in walked the man I assumed to be Mr. Kang. He was handsome and tall. It looked like the mafia took him straight out of one of the magazines I subscribed to and plopped him at the head of their organization.
"Mr. Petrov, excuse my lateness," he gave my father a nod, "I had no idea the traffic was so bad here."
"Think nothing of it," my father replied with a smile.
He sat down and only then did he acknowledge my presence. A big grin widened on his face.
"And who's this?" he said, taking me in slowly.
"Svetlana Petrov," I smiled. I didn't want nor need my father to speak for me. I was about to run a company after all, "You may call me Lana, though."
"Eunhyeok Kang," he flirted.
"She's my daughter," my father emphasized, still holding his warm expression but something darkened in his eyes.
This certainly wasn't the first time my father and I experienced an interaction like this one, he normally didn't get so upset, but his overprotective nature had doubled down after what happened with Petyr.
"Nice to meet you," I added sweetly, hoping he didn't notice that my father was contemplating killing him.
"Likewise," he smiled back, ignoring my father entirely.
I folded my hands on the table as one of the servants began to pour water for us, "Is Akio Hamada your enemy?" I asked curiously.
Eunhyeok expression changed and his shoulders tensed, "I see. This meeting is because you're trying to get at him?"
"Precisely," my father nodded, "But that begs the question...Is he your enemy or not?"
"Yes," Eunhyeok nodded, "He's psychotic. But that doesn't mean I want to go to war with him either."
"You don't have to," my father shrugged, "I don't need your help for that."
Eunhyeok furrowed his brows, "This meeting isn't about a war?"
"Not exactly," I shook my head, "We are prepared to go to war all on our lonesome. We just need you to expand your gun business."
Eunhyeok smiled at me, "Oh I see. You want to cut his income in half."
"Men don't win wars. Money does," I said, "Without his gun profits he'll be weak."
"Not to mention it'll triple your own income," my father added.
