Justin and I dropped Rachel off, she didn’t talk the whole time. It was silent for the whole ride. She got out, slamming the door.

“Damn, what’s her issue?” I shrugged my shoulders at Justin’s remark. He drove me home; I kissed his soft lips and made my way inside. Justin wanted to spend some time a lone with his mom and sister; I didn’t blame him. As soon as I walked through my door, I saw my parents waiting for me.

“Uh, hey guys.” I smiled at them.

“Kayleigh McGinty, we need to talk.” She motioned for me to sit down at the table; I did exactly that. “What the hell is this?” My mom through a magazine down on the table. The front cover was a picture of Justin and me from Lil Twist’s party. I stared at it for a few moments.

“It’s a picture of Justin and I.”

“Why the hell are your eyes blood shot and why are his pants undone?”

“Nothing happened.” I looked them straight in the eye, it hurt to lie to my parents especially my father.

“I am very disappointed in you Kayleigh.” My father stood up and walked away. That is something no daughter wants to hear. I put my face in my hands and walked up stairs. I plopped down on my bed. I heard a knock on my door.

“Who is it?” I sat up wiping the tears from my burning eyes.

The door opened. My mother. “Look, Kayleigh.” She sat down on my bed. “Can you just tell me, did anything happen?” I looked at her, I didn’t know if I should just tell the truth or what.

I gulped. “Nothing happened that night.”

“Has anything happened between you and Justin?”

“Yes.” I looked down, letting a tear escape from my eyes.

“Justin is not a good influence Kayleigh. I really don’t want you to be seen with him.”

“I am not going to stop seeing Justin. I love him mom. And he loves me.” I lifted my head, wiping my tear away from my red cheeks.

“It’s either that or you invite him over for dinner, and we meet him.” She smiled

“You want to meet Justin? I’m not in trouble?” I looked at her completely confused.

“You’re 18 Kayleigh. If you and Justin want to be intimate, I cannot stop you. That is no reason to ground you.”

I nodded and agreed to asking Justin if he wanted to come over for dinner. That went a lot smoother then expected. But my dad still thinks Justin and I did something that night, even though we did I still wanted him to believe other wise.

“Hey Justin.”

“Hey babe.”

“My mom wants you to come over for dinner one night, it’s a long story I’ll tell you later.”

“I’d love to.”

I smiled on the other end of the phone, “How does tomorrow night sound?”

“That sounds great!” he lightly laughed. “I got to go babe, moms calling. Love you.”

“Go have fun, love you too”

We hung up. I had nothing to do for the rest of the night, so I figured maybe I should call Rachel.

“Hey Rach.”

“What.”

“Um, is everything okay?”

“I guess.” She sounded completely pissed.

“Come on, just tell me. Why do you sound like you’re pissed off?”

“I’m fine.”

“You are not. Now stop and just tell me.”

“It’s this whole you and Justin thing. Its fucking stupid.”

“What the hell does that mean?” I rolled my eyes.

“You honestly think he loves you? He’s Justin Drew Bieber and you’re just plain old Kayleigh McGinty. He just comes into your life, and now you ditch your best friend, you sneak behind your parents back, you smoke and you lost your virginity all in a couple days.”

“I don’t understand why you won’t support me on this!”

“It’s me or Justin.”

I hung up the phone and threw it on the floor. How could my best friend tell me to pick between her and Justin? That is complete bullshit.
