My Way to Get To You (MxM)

Chapter 12

Two months of this wedding. For me, this is the best acting I can come up with so far. It kind of feels like torture, I have to pretends to be happy with this situation. Natalie actually not that bad as a wife, no, she can be categorized as a perfect wife, all her train as a princess and all her knowledge she get, make her a smart  and caring woman any man can imagine.

Unfortunately that's not for me. I like having her as my friend, and I think that feeling never change. I thought trying to live in this marriage life can make me change my feeling for her, yet, it's just make me sure that I looked at her just as a very best friend that I hold so dear. But, now my purpose just to make Natalie happy every day, at lease one of us have to be happy in this plain marriage.

The worst part is, every day is a brand new day for me to missing him.I never be parted with prince Shelton for this long, and this situation sometimes make me crazy. Sometimes I just drowned myself in training so hard just for forgetting his image. I'm okay with that crazy thing, but I make Natalie worry when I do that, and I hate make this sweet woman worrying someone who actually not worthed to be worried.

"I just got a letter from a soldier." Natalie said to me one evening "I hope it's a good news !" I replied with some excited tone I learned to bring everytime Natalie bring a news. "Oh, it is !" she said with a bright expression " My father and brother gonna visit us !"

"Which brother ?" I said to mock her, but part of my heart start beating so fast waiting for her answer, waiting for the best and the worst answer she can give me.

"Oh you ! now you are my husband, doesn't mean you can mock me anytime you please !" she pretends to mad but at last she laugh. "Brother Shelton will come !"

I feel like I just stroked by a lightning, but I tried to stay calm like I can accept any of her brother that's gonna come. " Will.. Easton and general Anton come too ?"

"I wish !" she said "The more the merrier, like we used to, right ? But sadly, no, Easton and general Anton must do something to the south side of kingdom. The Black Lotus strike again, right ?"

"Yeah.. yeah.. that's a pitty." I said. What I really feel is a relief. I can't face them, not yet. After what they're figure out, I can't put my face to them, not in this time. But, thanks God, finally I can meet Shelton again for the first time in this plain marriage.

"Here they come !" said Natalie feeling excited. An expensive cart come closer to this palace, and as she excite to meet her family, I feel nervous to finally meet him again. A few minutes later they stopped right in front of us. The king and Natalie's mother come out first and hug her, and it took a longer time to prince Shelton to finally come out.

And when finally he come, I feel like time has stopped just when our gaze meet. It can say so much words then we can express with our mouth. I miss him so much, and I know he feel the same. "How.. how do.. you do ?" that's the only conversation I can come up with, more over when we're shaking our hands.

"I'm good, how's marriage with my sister ?" "Well...." I glanced to Natalie while smile poorly. "Well what ?" she said while punced me a little in my shoulder. Every body laughing, then we enter the palace together.

In our way in, I walked side to side to the king. "She looks so happy, and I think I owe you that ." the king said which make me more guilty. "She's just always happy. " I replied

"No, it's a different kind of happy, I can feel it. You really are the best husband for her, I have no doubt with that from the beginning.

Everything seems right in the place, the visit, the warmth, I can act like a perfect husband, and Natalie certainly feel happy about this whole situation. One thing bothering me, seems like prince Shelton purposely touching me the whole time and act like it was nothing.
