But ladies and gentlemen, before we start, I'd like to say thank you for coming down and it's a strange feeling standing here on this stage one last time. I missed you all terribly. I missed this.
We lived through this global pandemic, a lockdown that none of us saw coming. You see, I've missed performing in a way.
But you know, sometimes life throws these curveballs at you, and it forces you to reflect. It makes you realise what truly matters. Being my last time on stage, it's bittersweet. I had a blast making you all laugh over the years, but even the Energiser Bunny runs out of batteries eventually.
If I had still been doing stand-up during lockdown it would have been like doing stand-up in solitary confinement. I would have spent more time with my socks than with a live audience.
After this, I might just retire to become a full-time sock puppeteer. Thank you for listening.
