Soleil

The bike sputters and stops. "Stupid cursed thing." I groaned as I rolled off the scooter. "You absolute waste of time! That wasn't even a complete ride! Wasn't an hour!" I huffed and kicked the bike. "Ow! Ouch!" I kneeled and cradled my foot. How does it run out of gas like that?

Aside from the utter embarrassment of running out of gas, I realized that I was in some trees. I pushed the bike behind a big bush. Just in case I ever needed to come back, run somewhere else. You know in case my mother tries to get me to come home. I leave the key in a small pouch in front of the bike. I hope Helena isn't upset that I ran it until it stopped. Not my fault for not being told it was only filled up halfway. Who loans out a bike as a getaway device and only have it full half tank?

I looked up the road in the direction I was going. The sun was no where near ready to come up yet. It was maybe only 1 in the morning. The ride across the bridge wasn't long, but there was a small village I had to ride through. A gas station I stole some food from. I brought everything I needed with me, except for food. I was an idiot. But the guy in the gas station hardly even noticed me. I'm sure to some point my mother was correct, no one knew I was even alive. no one saw me. I didn't even tell Helena my name. Speaking of Helena, she was the first person aside from my mother I ever had a conversation with.

Did I do good?

I walked all along the forest. It was pretty. Sprites giggled in the trees, illuminating the walk and guiding me further along the road. I didn't have to walk much further. The road led straight to Auradon. I wonder what I'll do before the school opens. I needed to find Fairy Godmother or maybe Mal. She could help me get situated in school. It made me nervous having to talk with so many more people. I was excited and nervous. I'm sure my speech with Helena wasn't odd in any way. Although I hardly got a word in.

I also needed to find a crown to give to Helena before I got into trouble with her. I walked onto the campus. The statue of King Adam as a beast all in bronze in front of me. I admired the statue, running a finger along the metal. I smiled and stood back, just admiring the school in all it's glory. I still can't believe I'm here.

"So, you come here often?" I jumped and screamed. I turned in the direction the voice came from and swung a fist, my fist colliding with-something? "Who are you?" The figures groans and kneels in front of me. I grasp onto the hood of someone. I take it off their head. A head of beautiful wavy brown hair gleam in the moonlight. "Name yourself!" I ordered. "Aww give me a minute, my nose hurts!" I recoil. "Sorry about that. I don't get out much." I apologized.

"Are you sure you don't take fighting classes?" The guy groaned once more and stood up. He shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair. "What's your name, I've never seen you before." he pointed out. "I could say the same for you." I replied. He had eyes like a clear ocean. He was tall too. "I.. I uh.. My name's Matthew."

"Matthew?" he nods. "Matt for short. Now you, who are you? And what are you doing wandering around so late at night."

"My name is Soleil. Don't even try pronouncing it." I cut him off. "You can just call me Sunny." Matthew nods. "Sunny? That's interesting." He thinks out loud. "Now seriously, what are you doing out past curfew?"

"I could ask you the same thing?"

"I am hall monitor." Matthew says matter-of-factly. I laughed right in his face. He took pride in being a dweeb. "Do you even have any friends?" I laughed, doubled over. "I have friends!" He snapped. "Knock it off!" he grumbled. "I have to take you to Fairy Godmother. I've never heard of you before." he eye'd me nervously. "I need to make sure you're not an escapee."
