The first thing I noticed when I woke up the next morning, was that my back hurt like hell. And my feet were freezing. Well, my whole body was freezing really. I shifted in my cold bed. why was everything so cold? And why were the birds so loud? It's like it was right next to me. I opened one eye, a pair of beady black eyes stare back at me. I screamed and rolled in the other direction, slamming right into a hard body. "Oh my Gods!" I screeched. The bird behind me tweeted, and flew passed us into the trees. "Matt?" I sit up, breathing hard. "oh no! Oh no, no no!" I looked around us. Trees, trees, lake! "We have to get back to Auradon, Matt wake up!" I shoved his shoulder. "Huh?" he replied groggily, head resting on a rock covered with leaves. "Wha' happened?" matt scratched his head confused. He blinked as he too looked around. "We're in the forest!"
"Yes! Get up! Where are my shoes!" I looked all around for my shiny shoes. I shove a bush over, Gods, what did we do last night? "My shoes!" I wrapped each hand around each shiny shoe. I hold them to my chest and sigh. "We gotta go." Matt finally stands up, he looks tired. Matt sleepily walks over to the bridge. The water looks so peaceful at night, and so sparkly during the day. I watch the water trickle down for a moment before Matt screams for me to hurry, so I take off and follow him. We walk hurriedly down the pathway, the school coming up in front of us. "I gotta go to the girls dorm. But I'll see you..." I spoke up and looked at Matt. "Yeah.. Yeah I'll see you later then." he leaned down and kissed my cheek quickly before rushing in the direction of the boys dorm. I watch dazed as he runs off.
He kissed my cheek? Maybe that was a princely thing. You know, as a way to say goodbye? Yeah definitely. After a second, I realized I needed to get to class or else I'd be in even bigger trouble. I've only been here for two days and I'm already late to class.
After getting to my dorm, I unlock the door, and head inside. I close the door behind me dreamily. I know everything that happened last night was a huge mistake. But there's a part of me that longs to be with him again. Being locked away in a tower, I never had friends.
"Wrapped me in your arms, leaned in and whispered 'keep me in your heart. I'm so bewildered, what's this new desire called?" I walked over to my bed and looked through the only clothes I brought. "I didn't know that much 'bout love, but now I think I'm learning." I hold the shirt closer to my chest and sway back and forth. "You've bewitched me, from the first time that you kissed me." I let last nights dress drop to the floor as I take it off and switch into a new outfit. "Waited all night, then we ran down the street in the late London light." I put on some pants as well, and changed into my usual boots. "The world froze around us, you kissed me goodnight." I grab my backpack Jane gave to me, basic black with sparkles on it. A little childish, but it's all she had. I walk around the table in the center of the room and look around.
Who new Auradon would really be different. I've been bewitched by a boy, betrothed to another. "You bewitch me, every second you're with me." It's worse that I barely know him, that I barely understand what I'm feeling. Or maybe it's worse that our parents are enemies. "I try to think straight but I'm falling so badly, I'm coming apart." I turn and open the door, and shut it behind me as I leave the girls dorm rooms. "You bewitched me..."
I didn't really know what it was, but I knew that this feeling rising in my chest was going to either be the best thing that ever happened to me, or be the worst.
