Soleil
As soon as I got back from Evie's place, I filled Nani and Tatianna in on the situation I kinda created. Nani and Tati squealed, and I stared at them like they were mad women. "Why are we squealing?" I asked. "This is your first date isn't it?" Nani brought me into a hug, giggling whilst doing so. "What? I mean I guess. But it's not really real is it?" I asked, still hugging Nani, but leaning away from her. "Yes! It's so totally real!" Nani squeezed me tighter, before Tatianna broke us up. "Okay, okay. The poor girl can't breathe no more, let her go."
Nani apologized and let me go. I sit down on my bed. "I mean, I don't have time for all this. I should be studying, not partying. I don't have time for boys, won't they just slow me down?" Tatianna and Nani shared a look. "Girl you're sounding like my mother!" Tatianna groaned. "It's getting closer, and closer, you're almost there!" Tatianna pulled me up from my seat and pulled me around the room.
"People down here think you're crazy, but you shouldn't care!" Tatianna pulled me over to her wardrobe, Nani collecting a few thing's from her side of the room. "People down here think I'm crazy?"
"Shh! Trials and tribulations, you've had your share!" Tati winked at me. I stared over at Nani, but she was just humming along. "There ain't nothing that should stop you now, cause you're almost there!"
"Almost where exactly?" Tatianna pulled out an adorable pink dress from her closet. "I like pink but-" Tatianna pressed a finger against my lips, telling me to be quiet. "I remember my daddy told me, fairy tales come true!" She tossed the dress at me. " I held the dress far away from me. It looked like it was from a fairytale. "Uh?"
"You gotta make 'em happen, it all depends on you." Tatianna layed her hands down gently on my shoulders, pushing me behind one of those curtain panel things. "So work real hard, each and everyday, now thing's for sure are going your way!" As she sang, I changed into the dress. It too, like the other dress, morphed into a dress that fit me perfectly. I plucked at the ribbons and bows. I oddly... Liked it? I had never worn the color pink. Mother despised super bright colors and preferred a much more muted palette. I wondered how many thing's I really had missed out on all the while being locked in a tower. I slide out from behind the curtain, "Just doing what I do, look out boys I'm coming through!" I waltzed right up the the full length mirror hanging on one of the doors. "And I'm almost there!" I sang, looking at Nani and Tati with a huge smile. I loved red and black, but I think I should try to find clothes I really do actually enjoy, find out who I want to be. Not what my mother wanted for me.
"There's been trials," Nani reached over and grabbed my hand, setting a pair of shiny pink heels in my hand. "And tribulations." Tati layed her head on my shoulder. "I know you've had your share." Tati sings quietly. "But I've climbed the mountain, I've crossed the river."
"And you're almost there." Tatianna says proudly. "I can't believe you're going on your first date!"
"I know!" I exclaimed, twirling around in my dress. "I think it just hit me right now. I'm going on a date with a boy!" I reached over and connected my hands with Nani and Tatianna and we jumped in joy. "Oh I'm so nervous!" I cover my mouth with my hands. I suddenly felt sick to my stomach. I had no idea how to go on a date. "Oh you guys have got to help me!" I begged, looking between my two friends. "We will definitely help you!" Nani swore.
The three girls spent the rest of the evening working really hard trying to get Soleil date ready. So learned etiquette for respectable dining, how to curtsey, some posh talk. Basically, everything a royal would learn during childhood and she did it all in two hours. Nani sat down on a chair, watching as Soleil walked back and forth, backwards and forwards, with books piled on her head to help with balance. "How are you so good at this?" Tatianna asked in amazement. They had only been working on her etiquette for a few hours, and she was fantastic at being a princess. "I kinda had a whole tower to myself. It gets lonely. I get bored. You kinda have to find something fun to do with yourself." I let the books fall to the floor in a heap and change into pajamas, noticing the lightness outside had already begun to darken the night sky. "Evie said she was going to text me some basic information on what we were going to do, where we'd meet, and at what time but she said she wouldn't tell me his name, his parents, or what he looked like. I'd have to figure all that out on my own."
