Scenario: She is so lost...
She found herself watching the sea beneath the night sky.
It was cold, and she felt incredibly helpless.
She heard a bell ring behind her and turned to see.
It was a door, just a brown door, covered in branches and thorns.
She knew it was calling her, so she took gentle steps towards it.
As she stood before the door, she felt stressed and anxious.
Her breathing became shallow and steep.
She felt the urgency to run away from the door. She felt as though it just wasn't for her to open.
But she kept doing the same thing, all the time.
Suddenly, she felt a vibration.
What?
She looked down on herself and saw a phone beside her foot.
She picked the familiar object up and saw it was unlocked.
She saw an exclamation point on the message icon and clicked on it.
A text message to someone...
Hey Adam,
I'm down to talk to you...
But you unfriended me...
So idk now.
We're just not working out I suppose.
And I really didn't want to end it like this but I just was really hurt and...
But I kind of had to... Because you wanted to find yourself.
I'm sorry for being selfish, for being stupid.
I just didn't want to feel like I was unwanted or I wasn't important.
I just hated that we just stopped talking to each other all of sudden. I wasn't warned or told... And you probably thought it wasn't important enough to tell me that because we aren't dating.
And really, we weren't friends either.
And so, I was conflicted...
I just thought we could try to go back to being the way we were but...
Idk why it felt like you just didn't want me in your life anymore.
Because it isn't the same compared to your friends who you can see, meet, chat...
It felt like that I thought I finally found something worth holding on to... But the longer I held on, it felt like I was hurting you and that was the last thing I wanted...
And yet, you hurt me a lot of times, unintentionally of course but you did.
I would be crying every time I finished gaming because I felt sad that I wasn't gaming with you or hanging out with you.
I don't want to push yourself to do something you really don't want to do so I'm going to give you some space.... Well, was going to.
And I get why you unfriended me but at the same time, we could have remained a text away and now we're just strangers.
I... I'm having fun these days and I just got promoted at work so I'm super happy for that!
I've been recently coughing a lot, and I'm taking antibiotics so that's fun...

Droplets of salted water gently fell down the screen.
She tightly gripped her phone, staring at the text.

She looked up, with a teary eye, at the door and reached for the doorknob.
She opened the door, and a bright light beamed through it.
I gasped as I woke up.
I felt the tears falling from my cheeks.
I moved to my right side, tightly hugging my blanket, in hopes of some comfort.
