Chapter- 21: The War Begins in Earnest

"Paul. What are you doing in Celadon City?" Ash asked, completely taken aback by Paul's rather sudden appearance in the city.
"Collecting a Badge, of course. How's Chimchar?"
"Oh, he... he's in- training, actually. Turns out the real reason he couldn't win battles is because he's less than a year old. " Ash told him, "You've abandoned him. But he didn't ever hold a grudge. He'll get better... and he's gonna be your defeat in the League. "
Paul laughed bitterly: "Heh, Dream on. I'm going to get myself a powerful Pokémon from here. "
"Same." Ash agreed.
The two boys walked into the Pokémon Game Corner.

"And there we go again, " Ash and Paul both chorused, as it was revealed that Game Corner was a covert base for Team Rocket operations.
Not only that, it was commanded by Team Rocket Executive Petrel. One whom Ash had already had the misfortune of meeting. That was about as far as they knew.
Well, and Paul knew that something called Operation: White Death existed. He had obtained a Porygon- Z from the Game Corner and planned to secure information from the mainframe in base.
Right now, they were taking down various grunts and commanders with their Pokémon.
The grunts were pretty easy to take out casually, and the commanders required a slight exertion of effort. Anyway, it seemed that with the exception of Petrel himself, the two would cruise through the base.
"Well... Well... Well..." Executive Petrel appeared on the spot.
Talk of the devil.
"Watch this, then!" A Hyper Beam from an Ursaring destroyed Petrel on the spot, exploding him.

Several Legendary Pokémon were assembled in the Hall of Origins, and Arceus, who had fallen into a slumber... was being succeeded. And there were a number of contenders for the throne.
Giratina smiled. He did well. Stoking feelings of disharmony among the Legendary Pokémon had made sure that contenders made a bid for the throne.
Mew wished to play around and took the chance to wreak havoc. Rayquaza immediately formed a peacekeeping force with Ho- oh and Lugia. The Legendary Birds and the Legendary Beasts chose to form an alliance with Kyurem of the Tao Trio. Zekrom and Groudon joined Giratina. Palkia and Dialga opposed Giratina. So, Reshiram and Kyogre sought aid from them. Solgaleo, Lunala and Zygarde of the Order Trio joined the peacekeeping force. The situation was followed by Mew hiring all Mew and Regis, and the two Hoopa, to lend strength to the force.
Then came various Heatran and Genesect, as well as Deoxys, to join the anti- peacekeeping force led by Giratina. The Lake Trio and the Forces of Nature Trio joined the peacekeeping force. Diancie joined as well, while Volcanion and Magearna joined with all Darkrai against all Cresselia. All Latios and Latias joined Kyurem's banner.
To lend further strength, Manaphy, Phione and Jirachi, along with Meloetta and Victini, joined up with the Galar Trio under Calyrex ,and were soon joined by Urshifu as muscle. Shaymin soon took up membership, as did Celebi.
And now, the war would continue, and Legendary Pokémon would die.

On earth, far away from the Hall of Origins, a man smiled.
Team Rocket would rule everything. All humans and Pokémon would exist for the Victory and glory of Team Rocket.
And he would rule, automatically.
He laughed again, an evil laugh that chilled all bones.

(A/N: 1. Who's the man? That’s the concern, isn't it? Maybe it's not Giovanni like in canon. I can't guarantee anything in the story.
2. Arceus wasn't awake at the time. Giratina made a bid for the throne.
