"Your Pokémon have been registered for the seven levels. A... Hydreigon...?"
"You talk about this and I'll hunt you down. I'll not have poachers around my Pokémon, " Ash snarled at him.
Right after Ash left in the elevator, he called a number.
"Hello? Miss Lee? You'll be interested... there's a Trainer challenging the Battle Tower... and he's got a Hydreigon. "

The first round came with a guy called Aaron. He had a powerful Heracross and a Dragalge. Ash's challenge was to take both of them down with only one Pokémon.
Ash chose Monferno.
His reason: he needed experience.
Monferno cut through the Heracross as if he was a mere Bug- Type (ironically, he was).
Dragalge was a tough one. He had a powerful Poison Point and struck constantly with a combination of Pin Missile and Draco Meteor. But then Monferno activated Blaze and took out Dragalge in a self- sacrifice attack.
Next came Jessica and Terry. They had a Rhyperior, Venomoth, Tentacruel and Houndoom. Ash had to defeat them in a double match, with a different pair of Pokémon for each corresponding pair.
Ash first chose Aggron and Kingdra, with Lucario and Absol his reserve. Tactics used were extremely underhanded, including attempting to tear Aggron's stomach out (Rhyperior). In the end, Rhyperior was down... but it was clear that Aggron was exhausted, and was taken out by Tentacruel.
But Kingdra was fast, and while Rain Dance superpowered both Pokémon, Kingdra was an adept at using it to her advantage, and with a clear battlefield, she actually functioned well.
Ash learned a lesson: Kingdra was better at singles battles.
The next round consisted of Absol and Lucario against Venomoth and Houndoom. Venomoth had Toxic Spikes, which hurt Absol a lot. Lucario, on the other hand, had a Type Disadvantage against Houndoom and took damage.
Lucario, on the other hand, used an Aura Sphere.
That was the Turning point. From the backfoot, Ash used it all as a distraction as Venomoth was hurt enough to be hit.
Absol used a Horn Drill to get underground and then Hyper Beam. The spikes were cleared and Houndoom was launched into the air. Taking advantage of this, Lucario capitalized on it and brought Venomoth to the point of exhaustion. Absol took the time to recover and launched himself up with another Hyper Beam, hitting Venomoth hard with her butt.
Venomoth collapsed.
At the same time, the remnants of the Hyper Beam were turned on a very injured Houndoom.
Houndoom collapsed.
This propelled Ash into the third level. The challenge was to defeat three Pokémon with just one.
Salamence made his appearance. Haxorus, Flygon and Duraldon on the opponent, Derek's team were destroyed by the sheer power of the Salamence.
It was at the fourth floor that things began to go wrong. O' Brien and Julie were more powerful than expected. He had to defeat six Pokémon in a doubles battle. But he could only use offensive attacks, no defensive attacks.
Ash got creative. Type immunity was good defense, so Lucario returned to the field against Garbodor and later Muk. Venipede, Toxicroak, Seviper and Drapion still remained. O' Brien's Toxicroak wreaked havoc, and Absol, being at a Type Disadvantage, was finished.
The challenge got worse when Garchomp came out. Lucario exhausted Toxicroak and Garbodor by creating a shield with an Aura Sphere and a dangerous ranged Close Combat.
Muk was sent out by O' Brien, and Julie sent Seviper. Garchomp created his original Sandstorm and did an outstanding job, converting a Draco Meteor into a defensive wall.
Zoroark ended the game.
With Aggron, Monferno, Lucario and Absol lost, Zoroark and Kingdra were the only ones to be used in the fifth challenge. Tyler was a very strange opponent. It was a single two- on- two battle. However, Tyler could change between Pokémon, and not Ash. Moreover, Ash had to choose two Pokémon with a straight Type Disadvantage.
Which left Kingdra fighting Electavire and Zoroark fighting Pangoro. Both were exhausted, but frankly both opponent Pokémon were of the slow, lumbering category and were exhausted fifteen minutes into the fight.
Now, Ash had to face the next level: the sixth Level.

An young and extremely hot girl with lavender hair was standing on the other side of the stadium.
"Hello, Challenger Ketchum. I'm Salon Maiden Anabel Lila of the Kanto Battle Frontier. Six- on- six. You can't switch but I can. That's Sixth Level protocol. "
Frontier Brain Anabel was the most powerful Frontier Brain in Kanto and had barely beaten Elite Four Agatha in a Battle, and because the latter specialized in Ghost- Types and herself in Psychic- Types, she had won with a Disadvantage.
It was at this moment that Ash knew he fucked up.

(A/N: 1. Anabel being stronger than Agatha is canon. When Ash loses to Agatha, Scott warns him that all the Frontier Brains are just as strong or stronger than Agatha.
2. Anabel could be in Ash's harem. No sure decisions.
3. Ten points to... sorry, wrong verse. But Indigo League Trophy! To whoever guesses who Miss Lee is. Clue: she has blue hair.
4. I decided not to write the first five Levels. I expounded on the main strategies, but writing five extra chapters would be a waste of time. From now on, prepare to not see entire Battles written out in print.
5. What Pokémon should I use for Anabel? Other than Alakazam, Metagross and Espeon? Any ideas? No Legendaries, please. Ash might get Legendaries because Chosen One. Still, no. )
