The hashiras stared at the demon group infront of them. The demons seemed to be slightly nervous, wearing a disstressed expression and sweating a bit. Just like Oyakata-sama had said, there were seven demons in total.

The oldest was a woman with black hair and deep lavender eyes. She had a purple checkered kimono. The second eldest was a boy, the only one with reddish hair. He had a pair of hanafuda earrings hanging from his ears. The third was a young girl in a pink hemp leaf patterned kimono. The fourth oldest was the only one not sweating so much. Infact he seemed to be glaring at the hashiras. Hiding behind the girl with the hemp kimono were two other children, both had red eyes and black hair, though the boy had a buzz cut. The youngest of the group was a young boy, most likely arond 2 or 3 years old. He was in the woman's arms, hiding his face from the hashiras.

One thing about the demons  visibly made Mitsuri squeal. Their raccoon features. Their round ears and soft tail, combined with a cute button nose and raccoon fur patterns decorating their skin and tail. They all did look adorable, but that was obviously to lure humans in right?

"So, are we going to execute them now?" Sanemi asked, getting impatient.

The demons tensed and the boy glaring earlier stopped. Oyakata-sama shook his head.

"We will not, Sanemi."

His answer shocked most of the hashiras, well except for Mitsuri, who seemed kinda relieved.

"I mentioned earlier that they've never eaten humans. I belive that they could be the key to defating Kibutsuji."

The demons all turned to look at Oyakata-sama. The boy with hanafuda earrings spoke.

"Kibutsuji?" He muttered

"How will we know that they've been eating humans in secret?!" Sanemi protested. He was not having it. "With all respect Oyakata-sama, but I don't believe that they could help us, they're demons!"

Then Sanemi took out his sword and stabbed his arm. The blood began to drip from the wound and the demons tensed up, the three youngest started to drool. Sanemi went into the shadow where the demons were hiding, apologising slightly to Oyakata-sama.

"What's the matter demons?" Sanemi taunted.

The demons trembled. The children huddled closer to their mother and then, all of them turned their heads away from Sanemi's bleeding arm.

"That settles it then." Oyakata-sama said, having been told what had happened. "The Kamados will be spared."

The day had just taken an unexpected turn in the blink of an eye.
