When Nico wakes up he is surprised because of 3 things. Firstly: it is not his hotel room, secondly: his hangover is not as bad as he thought and thirdly: his arm feels dead. And he doesn't know why.
But the three questions are resolved quite quickly. He doesn't have a hangover because Kevin and he stopped drinking and concentrated on talking and he is in Kevin's hotel room lying on his arm which is the reason for the numbness in his left arm.
When he looks at the clock, he just mumbles "Fuck!" And quickly wakes the other man. "Kevin, wake up, we have a meeting with Steiner in an hour!
Kevin startles and after a quick glance at his watch he starts swearing. The two drivers have to hurry. They still have to shower, have breakfast and drive to the track.
After a short shower in their own room, they sit with the rest of the riders at the breakfast table in the hotel.
"You look like shit." Laughs Val straight at his best friend. "Well, thanks a lot." Comes back sarcastically. "But so do you, Nico." Grins Danny, who just snorts. "They both seemed to need a lot of talking to last night." Mick says with amusement and Lewis next to him swallows in shock.
"Thank God you didn't hear anything." George grumbles tiredly and Mick rolls his eyes. "Can't exactly say the same for you." And with that sentence he almost gives Seb, who is sitting opposite the young German, a heart attack.
"You, you did not just-" stutters the former driver while Kimi just grins and nudges his best friend. "The little one is growing up Seb." The Finn just grins and turns back to his breakfast.
Oscar and Logan look back and forth in confusion and Oscar asks quietly "Did George have a fight with someone?" Mick turns his head in surprise to the youngest driver and says delightedly "He's even more of a baby than me. I'm out of the job!"
"Mark, Nico, protect your sons. They are still innocent." Grins Hulk. Then, looking next to him, he raises his eyebrows. Danny has leaned his head against Hulks shoulder and is asleep again.
Fortunately, the rest of the breakfast goes as planned. Nico and Kevin have decided not to attend the meeting. They have their contract for 2024 in the bag, so what the hell. Besides, they were promised on Saturday that Monday is a day off. You can't forget that!
After breakfast, the drivers set off for the beach. There they meet the last 3 friends. Marc Marquez, Stoffel Vandoorne and Pascal Wehrlein.
"Wehrchen, wie schön dich zu sehen!" Greets Mick the German enthousiastic. [Wehrchen, how nice to see you!]
Marc is also greeted enthusiastically by many. Danny hugs him tightly and Marc has to laugh. "Did you miss me that much?" Danny just nods with a grin.
When the competition starts, so does the chaos. There is shouting and laughter everywhere, people, aka Charles, fall into the water or are thrown into the water, aka Lando. Balls are flying everywhere and the pairings are still discussing the last strategies. "Toi et tes stratégies!" Laughs Pierre at his, now wet, best friend. [You and your strategies!]
A few small disasters later, Ferrari and Haas are in the final.
But due to the aftermath of the disasters, it takes a while. The Twitch quartet first has to give up all the balls they had used to throw off the rest. The AlphaTauri boys have to flee from the Mercedes drivers while Mick, Nikita, Logan and Oscar just happily play UNO under Daniil and Checo's supervision.
"Tu vois Pierre, mes stratégies fonctionnent!" Charles shouts triumphantly and Pierre yells back "Ce serait bien si les stratégies de course fonctionnaient aussi!" After that the Monegasque was silent and Pierre mutters "Je le savais!" Which is when Esteban starts laughing. [You see Pierre, my strategies work! || Just wish the race strategies worked too! || I knew it!]
In the end, Haas actually wins and Romain pats them on the back with praise. Nico just says dryly "That will most likely remain the only thing Haas wins." Everyone starts laughing and after a while everyone talks to everyone and the drivers just relax after this exhausting weekend.
